Hyundai i40

The new Hyundai i40 covered in the program of new releases of the mark, since the introduction of Hyundai ix55, will amount to a total of 24 new products. Hyundai i40 represents a quantum leap with respect to the fifth generation of Hyundai Sonata that is still marketed.

Design coupé: Fluent lines
General rival brands operating in the European market, especially in Spain, take into account that, from next spring, will play a major rival to beat both in terms of design, such as engines and quality of finishes, as Hyundai has prepared a design model with a very personal, thanks to a pseudo-coupe silhouette, a fashion started with the Mercedes-Benz CLS and have also established in your line models like the Volkswagen Passat CC or Opel Insignia. However, the design is outstanding for its absolute fluidity of the body lines.

The rear overhang is somewhat large, well concealed in the line of pseudo-coupe. The refinement of the new body comes equipped with LED taillights that extend generously by the hind flippers. The new groups will be equipped with headlamps headlights to Xenon gas discharge headlamps and road functions are of great size and from there was born a thin chrome molding that runs along the entire bottom edge of glass surface side, dying in the third window. A dynamic line, marked rises in the front wings and extends through the doors, crossed by the door handles until the trunk lid. Visually establishing a connection to the dynamic line left and right through the chrome molding that connects the pilots in the trunk lid.

In the front, highlights the great three-slat grille in body color will be in basic trim levels and chrome finish in the highest range.

Interior refinement
Hyundai has worked both the exterior and the interior, introducing a carrier of the highest quality materials. It is new all the facia, which is integrated into the door panels, extending them, as if it were all one piece. The instrument panel has two large dials surmounted by a chrome trim and a multifunction display in the center. The center console extends from the dashboard to the transmission tunnel in one piece with a new multifunction display framed in a chapel with sound system controls and a rotary knob like the Infiniti G, a configuration similar to that of the new Infiniti G37. Under it is the conditioning system design and configuration of a more refined visual.

Equipment height
In equipment, will also be at the height of its most direct competitors, including items such as sound system and XM radio with MP3 player and six speakers. Optionally you can set up a new sound system developed in close cooperation between Hyundai and Infinity with 400 watts of power, an element that combine GPS navigation with touch screen and hard drive capacity of eight gigabytes. There will also be other elements such as Bluetooth or the dual-zone automatic climate control.

Active safety features include systems such as ESP stability control, brake assist system the BA or the electronic brake distributor EBV among many others among the six airbags and passive safety measures.

Comes gasoline direct injection GDI
With the new Hyundai i40 will direct fuel injection to the mark and will do so with a powerful engine. This is a new four-cylinder engine and 2.4 liter displacement, thanks to this system and the variable distribution, develop a power of 201 horses. This engine belongs to the second generation of mechanical Theta (here's more info on this engine).

It also offered two mechanics GDI direct injection and four cylinders, a two liter engine with turbocharging and cheaper to 1.6 liters.

Finally, the range is completed with a hybrid version whose technology is based on lithium polymer technology.

Hyundai Getz

The decision to enter the most competitive segment of the European market was a turning point in the politics of Hyundai. It was in 2002 when he reached the old continent the Getz, the first representative of the Company in Segment B, which accounts for 26% of sales in our continent. Hence, this release was prepared with care by Hyundai engineers. The results speak for themselves today, with over 194,000 units sold and a growth that has not stopped in these three years of the model.

The new Hyundai Getz is now available with a 3 years unlimited mileage warranty.

The lines incorporate the new Getz small aesthetic touches. On the front is where the most dramatic changes occur with the arrival of a new hood, smoother lines and a redesigned front grille, which allows better airflow for cooling mechanics. The bumper, integrated and the same body color, now has a plastic shield throughout to prevent chipping in the paint produced so often in car parks. At the bottom of opening an air intake for the engine larger, framed by fog lamps (depending on version).

Laterally, mirrors the same color as the body, have been the result of a long work in the wind tunnel to provide the best aerodynamics, thus avoiding the uncomfortable noise generated by wind at high speeds. The door handles are the same color as the body (depending on version) and are integrated into the doors. The tires are 14 "-new design-in all versions, counting as an option with a new alloy wheels 15" (standard on CRDi 110 hp version).

The rear bumper has been remodeled and has a protective molding that covers the entire width of the vehicle. The rear lights are redesigned, integrating into them the lamps, the position and reverse gear. The rear wiper is part of the standard equipment on all versions.

IMPROVEMENTS TO THE INTERIOR
The interior has been more striking changes. The first thing that attracts attention is the new two-tone upholstery to give a more youthful and attractive to all. You can choose between combinations red / black or blue / black (only CRDi 110 hp version).

On the dash, the clocks are now larger, allowing a more comfortable reading. To improve comfort in these front seats, have joined a new folding armrest (depending on version). To the more than 20 small compartments slides have been added now standard practice in the center console tray, slide pockets on the doors of higher capacity, rear tray with ways to prevent displacement of the objects deposited in it or the handy hooks portabolsas incorporated into the rear of the front seats.

The new Getz has the widest cabin in its segment-138, 3 cm, is only matched by one of its competitors -95.2 cm in height and offers long, the more space for knees -86 , 9 cm. The rear seat is reclining in three positions, and folding rear seats folded the boot capacity rises to 987 liters.

The air conditioning is standard on GLS versions. The soundproofing of the cabin was carried out by adding new insulation materials both in the partition of the engine compartment to compartment, and the car floor and wheel arches.

FIVE ENGINES
The Getz offers three versions with regard to petrol engines (1.1, 1.4 and 1.6) and two diesel, both 1.5-liter. Among the petrol engines, the first of these is known as Epsilon engine, an inline four-cylinder that minor adjustments have been enough to see its power increased to 66 hp. Cylinder head is equipped with 12 valves and electronic fuel injection. Plastics have been used for the air filter housing, the radiator fan and the rocker cover to hold the weight.

This engine 1.1 yields now reach a maximum output of 66 hp at 5,500 rpm, with maximum torque of 10.1 Nm at 3,200 rpm. The 1.3-liter engine has been replaced by a new 1.4-liter, with four valves per cylinder and double overhead camshaft cylinder head. This 1.4-liter engine yields an output of 97 hp at 6,000 rpm with maximum torque of 12.8 Nm at 3,200 rpm. At the top of the petrol range is the 1.6 liter. In this, the power rises to 106 hp at 5,800 rpm, with maximum torque of 14.7 Nm at 3,200 rpm.

In the diesel range, the Ges, offers two versions of the 1.5 CRDi 88 and 110 hp. This engine has direct fuel injection system, turbocharger and common rail variable geometry (only takes CRDi 110 hp version). The first of the two versions provides a maximum output of 88 hp-hp more -7 rpm to 4,000 rpm, with maximum torque of 21.9 Nm between 1,900 and 2,750 rpm, while the latter increases its power to 110 hp at 4,000 rpm with a torque of 24 Nm between 1,900 and 2,500 rpm.

All three engines are prepared to overcome the existing stringent anti-pollution regulations in the U.S. and Europe. The Getz equipped manual gearbox, five-speed adapted to the performance of each engine.

FRAME, SUSPENSION AND BRAKES
The body is built entirely of high tension steel, which, together with the body panels-all constructed in one piece, and new welding systems employees drives offer high torsional stiffness and high resistance to impacts.

Moreover, the Hyundai Getz also has areas of programmed deformation in the front and rear to absorb the impact force in a collision. The scheme of front wheel suspension is MacPherson struts with coil springs and hydraulic dampers. The rear has chosen a torsional axle with coil springs and hydraulic dampers. The address is assisted by three steering wheel turns.

The brake system is a dual diagonal hydraulic circuit with servo, ventilated discs mounted on wheels in front and rear solid discs with ABS as standard. The anti-lock braking system, ABS, is a four-channel, four sensors, the latest generation and is mounted in conjunction with the system of apportioning the braking force base, EBD.

SAFETY IMPROVEMENTS
The doors have anti-intrusion bars, now more resistant, reducing the risk of injury in case of side impacts. Safety belts are three points for the five occupants, with the two front-tensioners. Here are the latest generation, and have a control system to avoid stress injuries caused by the belt itself. The airbags are standard for driver and passenger, have a swollen control system of low aggressiveness. Now, the front passenger airbag is disconnected.

The steering column is collapsible, taking care to absorb energy in the event of frontal impact, while reducing the risk of chest injury in the conductor. Another security feature is incorporated into the device Getz cutting gasoline pump to reduce the possibility of fires.

Honda P-Nut

Honda P-Nut is a new concept of urban transport developed by the Advanced Design Studio in Los Angeles and Honda showing a predominantly urban mobility study with the highest technology available in the area of propulsion.

Concept and dimensions
Honda P-Nut is an ultra-compact vehicle, with a length of 3,400 mm, 1,750 mm wide and 1349 mm high and with an interior configuration of only three places.

The design of the Honda P-Nut is designed with special attention to large urban agglomerations, where the traffic every day that passes is greater and as an alternative to the lifestyle of the cities. Honda P-Nut is the ideal vehicle to survive and move with agility and rediscover the benefits of large urban centers to its inhabitants.

The sophisticated design of the body reflects a balance between the outer and inner world, with a maximum spacing. Angles dynamic blend and combine with sharp surfaces and flowing lines that originate in the front of the vehicle and extending toward the rear. The result is a stylish body and dynamic, while full of light, thanks to the wide glass surfaces.

Three-seater cabin
The configuration of the interior has been designed in close collaboration with the rear drive system. In the center of the carrier has been positioned in the driving seat, flanked by two rear seats.

This solution provides intelligent distribution more legroom for all occupants, space comparable to a compact sedan.

Moreover, this solution increases the level discussed in the rear seats feature, since the rear seats have a mechanism that allows them folded up and removed from the car, increasing the storage capacity.

All instrumentation and information is projected onto the windshield glass that serves as a heads-up display, too, for the navigation system's camera and resupply, a role that has replaced the classic by mirrors.

Rear propulsion, space configuration for mechanics has been designed to accommodate a wide variety of conventional propulsion technologies such as small internal combustion engines, a gasoline-powered hybrid mechanical and combined with an electric motor or even a battery electric propulsion system.

Honda Civic Hybrid

The Honda Civic Hybrid sedan is an average of 4545 mm equivalent to a Citroen C4 Sedan, 4-door Ford Focus and the Astra Sedan among others. Unlike these models, the Honda Civic Hybrid, a hybrid-drive car, like the Toyota Prius.

The Honda Civic Hybrid has a motor i-VTEC 1.3-liter and 3 stages of 95 HP which is associated with a 20 hp electric motor. In total the two engines with a combined maximum output of 115 hp.

The i-VTEC engine 3 stage employs three hydraulic pathways to couple and uncouple five rocker arm assemblies, providing three stages of valve control depending on driving conditions, to obtain a combination of gentle driving and great fuel economy . In the deceleration when the cylinders are idle, combustion stops in the four cylinders and they are sealed, thereby reducing pumping losses caused by the suction of the engine, with a 10% improvement in recovery of braking energy over the previous generation, which closed only three cylinders.

Under certain conditions, a constant cruising speed to 50 km / h, the Honda Civic Hybrid is able to propel through the electric motor only. At that time, the vehicle consumes fuel and emits no CO2.

The electric motor
It is developed independently by Honda. This engine employs coils with high-density windings and high performance electromagnets, so it offers high performance in a small space, so that the hybrid system can be integrated seamlessly into the body four-door Honda Civic. The inverter controls the motor speed, also developed and manufactured by Honda, is integrated into the engine ECU to provide a more precise digital control, contributing to an engine efficiency and fuel economy even more.

The engine is equipped with the i-DSI (intelligent Dual and Sequential Ignition) Honda, which uses two spark plugs per cylinder and achieves a more complete combustion of fuel to light the two candles at once or sequentially, depending on the conditions of underway.

Both engines associated with its potential to change continuously variable that has a smooth and seems suited for the car to eat little. It also gives us the impression that, although a change adapted to adjust the cost of the fuel, not the end to get the most performance you can get to offer the hybrid powertrain.

Moreover, a regenerative braking system hydraulically controls the brakes, based on the amount of brake regeneration. This permits maximum braking regeneration and soft deceleration consistent with pressure on the brake pedal. The air conditioning system comprises a compressor powered by hybrid gasoline-electric engines. When the gasoline engine idling is stopped, the compressor is powered by an electric motor, if rapid cooling is required, both engines are used simultaneously. Once the temperature stabilized, the power comes only from the electric motor to increase comfort and fuel economy. (see graph)

Here you will, one way Secilla, modes of operation of the propulsion system:

- Vehicle stopped: The gasoline engine shuts down and consumes no fuel and emits C02.

- Startup and acceleration: The gasoline engine valve timing works with low-speed electric motor-assisted.

- Rapid acceleration: The gasoline engine valve timing works with high-speed electric motor assistance.

- March at low speed (constant speed and up to 50 km / h): close the valves of the four-cylinder engine and stops burning. The vehicle is powered only by the electric motor, no fuel or emissions.

- Gentle acceleration and high speed motion: The gasoline engine drives the vehicle running with valve timing low speed.

- Deceleration: the valves are closed the four-cylinder engine and stops burning. The electric motor recovers the maximum amount of energy released during deceleration and stores it in the battery.

Moderate benefits
For consumption and mechanical efficiency (benefits and accelerations), the Honda Civic Hybrid is a car that offers great advantages compared to similar models with a conventional type of propulsion. The approved average consumption is 4.6 liters per 100 km. Under normal conditions on the road (according to our measurements) the Honda Civic Hybrid has spent 6 liters on average. Its CO2 emissions of 109 (g / Km) are really low and allow you to be exempted from registration tax.

The performances are very fair and lower than those offered by similar sized models, concepts, and weight, especially engine. The accelerations are modest. It seems that the car is developed to adapt to a low consumption and extreme softness when you hit the accelerator.

Honda does not provide the data on the drag coefficient of the body, although at first glance special care is perceived in this section by the Japanese engineers. The various components of the body are very well assembled and the tires are designed specially adapted to improve aerodynamics.

The windshield, large-area, has a marked inclination and the windshield wipers have a very flat design for airflow the press firmly against the glass.

The Honda Civic Hybrid car is not a particularly loud in almost all conditions. Only much noise moves inside when the internal combustion engine spins very high returns. According to Honda, the Civic Hybrid has rubber floating mounts strategically spread throughout the body to limit noise and vibration of rolling and moving to the engine compartment.

Behavior
The chassis of the Honda Civic Hybrid has a McPherson strut suspension at the front and a multilink layout at the rear. The moron is soft and the course of these very broad. The grip is correct and the efficiency curve is normal, taking into account the features and benefits it offers.

The Honda Civic Hybrid comes standard with ABS and electronic force distribution (EBD). It also includes stability control and traction (VSA). The front-seat headrests are active (avoid injuries of whiplash cervical accident).

To reduce injuries to pedestrians in case of impact zones of the bonnet and sides of the Honda Civic Hybrid has been designed so that deform under the impact of the head of an adult or a child. Backers of the hood, collapsible energy-absorbing, wipers and the side supports are designed to allow large deformation on impact.

Price, interior and equipment
The starting price compared to its rivals is high (24,500 €). The allocation of series is complete without being remarkable. Their equipment consists of stability control, climate control, stereo with CD changer, six airbags and speed regulator Among notable. However, included the guarantee offered by Honda for 5 years (no mileage limit) in the combustion engine and a guarantee of 8 years (or 160,000 miles) across the electric drive system of the hybrid system.

The interior is comfortable and spacious for the measures that have the body. The different set-up that has the wheel and the seats can adopt a low or high position at the wheel, as required. The front seats are comfortable and hold the body properly. The rear are made of much softer foam, which fails to provide the same level of support.

The trunk has a volume of 350 liters. Its capacity is limited by the battery that powers the electric motor (it is located behind the rear seats - see photo).

The dashboard has a futuristic design, but not overly intuitive design features a tidy and well distributed. In front of the wheel you can display the counter, battery charge and the shift position. At the top is the speedometer and indicators for the instantaneous fuel consumption and fuel level indicator. In the center console are located various controls of the stereo, climate control and warning button.

Inside you can leave a large number of objects in the poaching, door panels, center console and on the armrests of the seats in the front seats, which also incorporates a USB connection.

The Honda Civic Hybrid is manufactured at Honda's Suzuka plant in Japan.

Honda Insight

Honda Insight hybrid vehicle is a technological concept similar to a Honda Civic Hybrid and Toyota Prius. By design, the bodywork is very similar to the Toyota model. Marketing in Spain is planned for next spring.

The new Honda Insight Range 2009 is a compact five-doors and seating for five passengers, is equipped with a more compact and lighter version of Honda's IMA system. This model is based on the prototype (presented at the Paris Motor Show in October 2008) in the Honda Insight Concept.

Eco Driving Assistance
The Range 2009 Honda Insight will use a new interactive system, aimed at improving fuel economy, called System driver assistance Ecologica (Ecological Drive Assist System). This technology gives the driver real-time information about your driving to help reduce fuel consumption and CO2 emissions.

When you activate the device "Econ" with this button, changes in engine management and transmission to provide a tighter consumption.

The Range 2009 Honda Insight has a low consumption, spends just 4.4 liters per 100 km (0.2 liters less than the Honda Civic Hybrid and 0.1 liters more than the current Toyota Prius). With regard to a diesel or gasoline equivalent model, the Honda Insight Range 2009 has a significantly smaller consumption.

According to Honda, the propulsion system is lighter and more advanced than the Honda Civic Hybrid. The electric motor has an output of 14 hp. With regard to combustion, the Japanese brand has not provided any evidence, although it probably has a power around 100 HP.

As in the Honda Civic Hybrid, the batteries are located beneath the trunk, and the combustion engine and electric are at the front.

Both engines associated with all his strength to change continuously variable (CVT), which can be handled by the shift lever or via paddles located behind the wheel.

Futuristic
Inside we found a similar design to the Honda Civic (the distribution of the instrumentation is very similar). In the dashboard (located behind the steering wheel) is displayed the information on the speed (located in the upper indexing and digital), speed (highlights and governs the entire instrument panel center), load batteries (sitaudo left the rpm), fuel level (on the right the rpm and other data relating to energy efficiency, fuel consumption and mileage (these data can be viewed on a display located in the center of the indicator of the engine speed.

The controls for instrumentation, air conditioning and sound system are separated, this may come to facilitate their management. Between the two front seats is a apoyabrados that serves as storage space. In this compartment is a cable with a USB output for connecting various external devices to play music.

The interior seems practical, since the loading spout is wide and the rear seats can be folded with a ratio 40/60. the floor of the trunk is almost flat and can accommodate large objects (eg an adult bike)

Honda expects annual global sales of the Range 2009 Honda Insight, which will begin shipping in the spring of 2009, reaching 200,000 units.

Honda Civic Type-R

The Honda Civic Type-R is the sportiest version of the range. It is based on the Honda Civic Type R Concept (More information). Fundamentally it is a car that stands out for sporting sensations transmitted when you drive. Its engine and change (outstanding performance) are very similar to what we find in a racing car.

The Honda Civic Type-R has a reinforced body more than the Honda Civic hatchback. Has been particularly enhanced soil crossbar located directly in front of the central fuel tank, around the upper brackets of the front suspension, while the lower crossbar is placed immediately in front of the engine bay to provide added stiffness.

Aerodynamic improvements
The Honda Civic Type-R incorporates a series of aerodynamic improvements. The front spoiler takes a larger air intake as well as triangular foglamps whose shape is matched with great rear exhaust pipes. The rear spoiler, the same color as the body, added downforce that splits the rear tailgate glass, unlike the high profile glass 5-door models and Type S.

Other characteristics are: Type R logos located on the front brake calipers and grille of the Civic Type S is replaced by a mesh honeycomb-shaped logo and 'H' in central position.

The Baquets whose seats are covered with Alcantara upholstery in black and red stitching, with cushions and backrests of red cloth (they are comfortable and especially envelopes). The dashboard is identical to other versions, only features red illuminated dials. The steering wheel is wrapped in black perforated leather with red stitching and ornamentation of the logo 'H' in the center, while the handle of the shifter, with aluminum finish, has a black cover with red stitching.

As a final touch is a plaque engraved with the unique serial number of the car immediately in front of the shifter.

The driving position is very well designed set, and find enough settings on the wheel and bucket to position ourselves in complete comfort. The wheel is an ideal size to handle it quickly and for the arms have enough room to not hit your elbows on the door panels. The shifter is located in a raised position, basically to facilitate handling.

Moreover, the interior design is futuristic and different. Technologically speaking it is a car that this innovative features (all controls and devices are conventional), but its bold design to see things differently. Even so, depending on the tastes of each car is more functional when viewing elements of the instrumentation or handling certain items, including air conditioning. This is too messy, but it is likely that a long period of adaptation facilitates more things.

Changes to your frame
The Honda Civic Type-R uses the suspension of the Honda Civic Type S. Like the Type S, its rear track is 20 mm more than the 5-door model. However, the characteristics of the shock, bushing and spring are unique to Type R.

225/40 ZR18 tires provide more grip, while the reduction of 15 mm ride height decreases rolling. In addition, the location of the fuel tank in the center, beneath the cabin floor lowers the center of gravity and moment of inertia of the body. It also provides a stronger leadership, a quicker ratio and supports the stiffer steering box.

Their behavior is very sporty road, their reactions to changes of direction are very direct and has a chassis, which are not of the most effective when we are able to perform correctly demanding driving. Over the previous generation, the new Honda Civic Type-R is a heavier car and certainly more athletic and easy to drive.

The brakes are scarce when it required the utmost in sporty driving. It would be advisable to opt for a more powerful and elaborate (Honda does not offer high-performance brakes on your list of options). For its part, the direction is straightforward and fast in their speeches. Always offer a seamless information of what happens between the wheels and the pavement.

A motor racing
The new Honda Civic Type R is powered by the i-VTEC DOHC 2-liter-which it shares with its predecessor, but improved to deliver greater refinement and responsiveness thanks to a new axis balanced and electronic throttle. The maximum power of 201 hp is reached at 8,000 rpm (previously 200 hp were achieved at 7,400 rpm).

The technology of electronically controlled variable valve VTEC valve timing and VTC is still the base engine architecture. He retains his cheerful nature and full load, but the change of variable distribution with higher and longer valve opening occurs at lower regime, 5,200 rpm, and continues until the 8,000 rpm limit. It includes a new i-VTEC indicator to the right of the speedometer which is illuminated in the rev range.

Today it is very difficult to find or prove an engine like the Honda Civic Type-R. The propeller of the Japanese model slash the honors. Despite being atmospheric, with a round up of joy and lightness, left little doubt more than a supercharged mechanics. It seems that the inertia are minimal (because of how well that goes back) and shear mechanical stretch (7,400 rpm) is a pleasure that takes you directly to the sensations experienced on a good race car.

The engine is mated to a six-speed manual gearbox. Like the engine, its performance is outstanding: it's fast, has a nice touch and guided its development will take full advantage of the engine. It is very difficult to find a change of that level in other competing models.

Its performance is outstanding, and help position itself ahead of many rivals in this section. The Honda Civic Type-R gets an acceleration of 6.6 seconds from 0 to 100 km / h and a maximum speed of 235 km / h. Their consumption is not too high (if we consider its maximum power and performance). Their weighted average is located on the 9 liters at normal conditions.

Different versions
For customers who want greater convenience and enhanced specification, there is available a fully equipped version. Additional features include curtain SRS airbags, cruise control, fog lights, automatic lights and wipers and dual zone climate control. In the highest version of the standard range is available an advanced navigation system with voice control functions and information on RDS traffic.

For those who prefer a more car racing, Honda offers a lighter version, which removes elements such as audio system, rear cargo deck, lower deck and engine insulation material (this reduces the weight of 40 kg fine ). This version is the basis for receiving parts prepared approved in Group A of the FIA. Moreover, the own Honda Civic Type-R will be approved for groups N and A of the FIA, and for the next Group R.

The full range of Type R and Type S is built exclusively alongside the Civic 5-door range at the Honda plant of the UK Manufacturing Ltd. (HUM) in Swindon.

Honda Jazz 2009

The Honda Jazz 2009 is a small minivan similar to a Renault Modus or an Meriva and Fiat Idea, among others. Over the previous generation is a completely new model. The new Honda Jazz is on sale in Japan (where it is marketed under the name Fit). Although it can order, the Range 2009 Honda Jazz goes on sale in November from 13,950 to 18,050 €.

Lower consumption and emissions
The new petrol engines are more powerful, while consuming considerably less. The range comprises a 1.2 to 1.4 liters of 90 and 100 hp respectively, both are equipped with variable valve timing technology, Honda VTEC four-cylinder combined with a 5-speed manual transmission or, in the case of Motor 1.4 liters, also with the transmission 6-speed automated manual i-SHIFT Honda, which is operated by two built-shift paddles on the steering wheel.

Despite the increased power to 90 hp (78 hp compared to its predecessor) at 6,000 rpm and a torque increased from 110 to 114 Nm for higher benefits, the 1.2-liter engine achieves a consumption mixed circuit as only 5.1 l/100 km, in contrast to the 5.5 l/100 km of the previous model, reducing CO2 emissions from 129 to 120 g / km, so that Spain will be exempt from RT ..

Something similar happens with the 1.4-liter engine with its 100 hp and a torque of 127 Nm. Compared with the previous i-DSI, reaching an output of 83 hp and 119 Nm, fuel consumption is now 5.3 l/100 km in versions with manual transmission (as opposed to the 5.8 l/100 km of the previous generation) and even of 5.2 l/100 km in versions equipped with the transmission i-SHIFT automated manual (with the CVT transmission of the previous 1.4-liter model was 5.9 l/100 km). Similarly, CO2 emissions drop to the 123 and 120 g / km respectively (compared with 137 and 139 g / km of previous versions). Like the 1.2-liter, 90 bhp, this engine also is exempt from the registration tax

The versions with manual transmission incorporating a gear indicator light or SIL (Shift Indicator Light) similar to the new Accord, which allows the driver know the optimum speed of change and improve consumption.

Transmissions
The new Jazz with engines of 1.2 and 1.4 liters is equipped with a 5-speed manual transmission that has evolved over the previous one in which relations have been optimized for easy driving change and at the same time, ensure good consumption figures.

Among the most important changes include improvements in touch and clutch pedal travel, a carbon synchronizer in third gear to reduce the force needed to engage this speed, more speed on changes due to less inertia clutch disk and other settings.

The versions with manual transmission includes a gear indicator light or SIL in the center of the counter, an element already present in the new Honda Accord. This indicator shows the driver the optimum speed of change to improve consumption. Honda's internal testing has proven that there is considerable fuel savings.

I-SHIFT transmission (automated manual transmission 6-speed)
Besides the 5-speed manual transmission, 1.4-liter engine can be combined with i-SHIFT transmission Honda, which was first introduced in the Civic range. This automated manual transmission 6-speed that has never before been used on a vehicle in this segment, provides better fuel economy than those obtained with the automatic transmission or continuously variable transmission (CVT).

This transmission system is a development of previously entered into the Honda Civic, which he has incorporated some improvements, including reducing the speed change intervals and a logic of change more intelligent automatic mode.

Larger in the compartment
With 3,900 mm long, 1695 mm wide and 1525 mm high, the new Honda Jazz 2009 is situated in a unique space between segment B and the compact MPV MPV, which manages to offer the design of the first and practicality of the latter.

Overall height remains similar, but the Honda Jazz 2009 has grown 55 mm in length and 20 mm in width. The battle is also 50mm longer and wider track front and rear have increased 35 and 30 mm respectively, which means more stability.

Despite the increase in size, turning diameter (9.8 m curb to curb) is equal to the previous version, which, coupled with improved visibility, easier maneuverability in town.

The basic versions of the range are equipped with steel wheels 15 inch with 5 double spokes and 175/65 R15 tires. Some versions feature alloy wheels 15 inches, while in the higher version, the alloy wheels are 16 inches and 5 double spokes with 185/55 R16 tires. The versions 1.4 feature integrated in exterior mirrors.

Safer
The security of the Honda Jazz 2009 has been increased through the use of the Advanced Compatibility Body (ACE) from Honda, a concept that is being gradually introduced across the range of Honda vehicles. Its structure, in particular polygonal front frame helps to prevent misalignment between vehicles of different sizes and shapes, and is designed to disperse the forces through several avenues of shock absorption and thereby prevent deformation of the carrier.

All versions include standard front and side airbags, curtain airbags and full-length seat belts front and rear three-point (front dual-stage pretensioners). The front passenger airbag can be deactivated in order to put in the front seat baby chair in the opposite direction of the march and for the first time, the Jazz features seat belt warning for front and rear seats. The front seats include active head restraints to minimize the risk of cervical lesions. Two ISOFIX anchorage points located on the left and right rear seats, and the anchors in the roof ensure correct installation of the infant seat.

More practical and functional
The new Honda Jazz 2009 (larger than its predecessor) inherits the design of the suspension and central provision of the fuel tank to increase cargo space.

The rear-seat passengers now have 37 mm more legroom, while the distance between the front seat occupants and rear has been increased 30 mm. Also, the slight increase in the vehicle width means more shoulder room, namely, 44 mm in the front and 43 mm in the rear.

The visibility has improved significantly. The width of the pillars was reduced, has increased the size of the windshield and the moons are three times the size of the previous model, allowing for a more relaxed driving enhanced by the addition of a retractable rear headrests ensure that nothing obstruct the view through the rear window.

Folding rear seats now in one motion
Following the success of the original configuration of the rear seats of the previous generation, not surprisingly, Honda has opted for a similar solution in the seats of the new Honda Jazz 2009 that, although work on the same principle, now are more comfortable because they bring down with one motion. You no longer need the front seats move forward to bring down the rear seats, but, thanks to the headrest of the latter are almost aligned with the backing, have room enough to abate even when the front seats are placed in the position away from the dashboard.

New double height boot (versions 1.4 liters)
The functionality of the folding rear seats are complemented in the new Jazz with a flexible cargo space based on the same principles as the Honda CR-V. The double height boot, 1.4L versions, provides a second cargo area concealed by a double panel (Regular Mode). The lower compartment, 230 mm deep and 64-liter capacity, is perfect for storing sports equipment, clothes or wet objects and, once filled, is isolated from other luggage.

The panel can be removed altogether or folded against the rear seats to maximize available space, which is very useful to carry tall objects. Alternatively, instead of folding all the panel against the rear seats, its rear half can be folded up to create a tray of medium height and obtain dual cargo space. Heavier objects can be stored on the bottom and the lightest at the top of the tray and, as a network that includes slides, is perfect for keeping sharp or pointed objects subjects during the trip.

The total capacity of the luggage compartment is 399 liters (VDA) in versions 1.4, higher than some and the best compact MPV segment B. The previous Honda Jazz had a total capacity of 380 liters (VDA).

More refined interior
The Honda Jazz 2009 uses, according to Honda, the highest quality materials, more pleasant to the touch, and with colors and modern design. The interior has a number of handy compartments. The glove features a double opening with a USB cable to connect external equipment such as an i-pod or similar.

Honda says the seats are more comfortable and better support, the driving position features a new foot and the driver's seat is height adjustable. The steering wheel is only adjustable in height. The rear seats are wider.

Improved body rigidity for improved noise isolation. The higher versions of the Range 2009 Honda Jazz range are equipped with a panoramic roof that extends into the rear seats. Finally, the Honda Jazz Range 2009 incorporates moons antipyretics and electric curtain.

For now, Honda has not provided equipment levels and prices, but at least we can anticipate that the associated versions 1.2 liter engine will have 90 hp standard with air conditioning. For its part, the versions associated with 1.4-liter engine with 100 hp as standard equip the conditioner. Both systems are more efficient and have better cooling capacity.

The previous generation Jazz is sold over two million units worldwide since its launch in 2001. to become a global car sold in 115 countries, with annual sales around 400,000 units.

Honda CR-V

Honda launches third-generation CR-V SUV, is the successor to a range that has achieved a worldwide turnover of almost 2.5 million units in the last 11 years.

The new Honda range consists of the following finishes: Comfort, Elegance (replaces Sport), Executive, Luxury and Innova (replacing Advance). The designation of these finishes is common to both diesel versions (manual transmission) and for the gasoline versions (manual or automatic transmission).

Innovative equipment
It will have a next-generation equipment that will accommodate the adaptive cruise control (ACC, Adaptive Cruise Control), with cruise function controlled by radar, which maintains a preset distance with the vehicle that precedes it, and the system mitigation of impacts (CMBS, Collision Mitigation Brake System), which emits a series of warnings to the driver if the distance of the vehicle up front decreases below an acceptable level, before braking and retracting the front seatbelts if the situation becomes critical. Within the safety equipment special bags dual stage SRS front, side airbags in the front seats, curtain airbags, seat belt alarm and active front headrests.

The new CR-V also incorporates support and stability in tow (TSA, Trailer Stability Assist), which together with the stability system and traction of the vehicle (VSA Vehicle Stability Assist) ensures that towing safety is monitored and continually corrected. In addition, the towing capacity of the petrol versions with manual transmission rises from 1,500 to 1,600 kg, and the CR-V diesel rises from 1,500 kg to a very competitive 2000 kg.

AFS, Active Front Lighting
The active front lighting system (AFS, Active Front Lighting) extends the distance of vision of drivers and features rotating optical cross in the direction that makes the vehicle, and is also available on the CR-V for the first time. Like other recent models from Honda, the CR-V has a body structure technology that Honda calls Advanced Compatibility Engineering (ACE Advanced Compatibility Engineering).

A polygonal frontal structure reduces the risk of loss of alignment, while the energy absorbing pathways upper and lower optimize the delivery of energy on impact. The high strength steel now makes up 58% of the monocoque body.

Maintain habitability
The interior is still ample space and measures are generally the same as in the previous CR-V, although cargo space is expanded back to reclaim the space left by the spare tire used to be mounted on the tailgate rear. Passengers enjoy the same great visibility while access has improved, with large doors that open to greater openness and lower edges.

The new interior features metallic trim applications of the fascia and doors contrasting with black trim soft texture. The front seats are more, and the steering column is adjustable for height and tilt. The relocation of the shifter, now located at the base of the center stack brings it closer to the steering wheel and allows more space on the floor.

The availability (depending on version) as the power driver seat, adjustable in 8 positions, leather upholstery, alloy wheels, 18 inches, parking sensors front and rear and rear view camera. The spare wheel is now housed under the cargo floor.

Panoramic Roof
Like the Civic, the CR-V offers the panoramic roof that extends from the windscreen to a point behind the rear seat to provide an even lighter cabin. If desired, you can close with two electric blinds which covered the same material as the roof lining.

Rear seats: the base is split 60:40, the seat back 40:20:40. You can slide to expand leg room or luggage and recline for comfort, and the center section can be folded flat to carry long objects without losing two rear passenger seats. With the seats tumbled forward and stored upright gives a loading area, sufficient to accommodate two mountain bikes without removing the front wheels. The new section of dual-platform baggage adds flexibility. It has a spacious shelf located at a height of 330 mm above the load floor, which allows you to place underneath a standard stroller. This means that baggage can be separated, with easier access to the posting below, plus the shelf is hinged across its width for added comfort. When not in use, the shelf can be removed or stored snugly in a recess in the floor.

A diesel and gasoline
It is available with a gasoline engine of 2.0 liters and a 2.2-liter diesel. The i-CTDi diesel 2.2 liter 140 hp Honda has not changed, but 12% have improved aerodynamic efficiency, fuel economy is better.

The petrol engine is an all-new unit in parallel with Desarrrollo SOHC i-VTEC 1.8 liter of the Civic range. That is, besides having the latest technology VTEC and friction reduction, it incorporates the delayed closure of the intake valves along with the full opening of the throttle valve in low-load driving to reduce pumping losses and increase fuel economy.

The gasoline engine models equipped with brand new transmissions: 6-speed manual or 5-speed automatic.

The maximum power and torque is 110 kW/150 hp at 6,200 rpm and 190 Nm at 4,200 rpm. It has also been enhanced, from 0 to 100 km / h time dropping from 10.8 to 10.2 seconds (manual) and from 13.1 to 12.2 seconds (automatic).

AWD
The AWD system-Real-Time combines a pump system with a way cam unit to significantly enhance sensing of front wheels slip. The system transmits power to 20% more torque compared to the current drive-quickly to the rear wheels, increasing stability in the snatch and turns into snow-covered roads and other slippery surfaces.

Among the biggest changes is lowered by 35 mm from the center of gravity, an increase of 30 mm gauge and 17-inch wheels, plus several changes to the steering and suspension geometry.

Honda Legend

The new Honda Legend incorporates a 3.5-liter VTEC engine and 6-valve all-aluminum, generates 295 hp at 6,200 rpm and 353 Nm of torque at 5,000 rpm effortless performance matched to low emissions. Is equipped with a 5-speed automatic transmission.

SH-AWD System
The system comes standard with Honda's original Super Handling All-Wheel-Drive (SH-AWD), which completes the program stability control (VSA). The SH-AWD is more than a conventional four-wheel traction by controlling the distribution front / rear torque, and through a pair of electromagnetic clutches in the rear axle is able to adjust the torque between the wheels left and right rear.

When accelerating during cornering, SH-AWD accelerates the outer rear wheel, helping to turn more easily. And conversely, if the car is decelerating during cornering, balance is controlled torque to counteract oversteer.

Safety equipment
Other standard features are dual stage front airbags, side and curtain airbags, a Bose premium audio, the AudioPilot noise reduction, which neutralizes the irritating noise from road, wind and others, sending a signal opposite phase through the audio system, the AFS (Active Front Lighting System) with directional lighting, keyless entry, satellite navigation with voice recognition function and RDS-TMS to help the driver to find an alternative route to jams, and rear view camera to assist parking.

Among the measures of protection for pedestrians and incorporates the bonnet Legend includes a pop-up "series, one of the first on the market. Activated by a pyrotechnic device, in case of impact in milliseconds absorbs shock received by the pedestrian.

ACC System
Also boasts the ACC (Adaptive Cruise Control), which extracts information from a radar system mounted on the grid to measure the distance from the vehicle in front and through the cruise control regulates vehicle speed and distance respect to the preceding vehicle.

l ACC is complemented by the CMBS system, a braking system which mitigates the impact and she anticipates reducing the impact suffered by the occupants and vehicle damage, triggering warnings for the driver, initiating braking and tightening belts security through electronic pretensioners.

Furthermore, models of right-hand drive system may include inadvertent lane change (LKAS), another device that also incorporates the new Accord in those versions. The LKAS uses a camera mounted behind the top of the windscreen to identify the lane in which the vehicle and correct any deviation via an appropriate signal to the address, and changing the trajectory.

The chassis has front suspension double wishbone and rear multilink suspension. Ventilated disc brakes with 4 piston jaws accompanied by ABS and EBD (electronic distribution of braking force).

Standard Equipment
Inside are leather and wood finishes. The audio system uses 10-speaker Bose Cabin Surround sound of the mark. This system uses eight channels to provide a resolution of greater than 500 audio CDs. E AudioPilot includes noise reduction, which neutralizes the irritating noise from road, wind and others, send an opposite phase signal through the audio system.

g> Satellite navigation features RDS-TMS which displays up to the minute information whenever available, and seek alternative routes to avoid traffic jams. Another benefit is the voice recognition (English, German and Italian soon to be added French and Spanish).

The audio and climate control functions can also handle voice. Parking is much easier thanks to rear-view camera transmits the image to 8-inch screen.

The Legend, VTEC petrol engine of 3.5 liters and 295 hp mated to a 5-speed sequential automatic, includes also standard on the team, highlighting the high-end Bose audio, navigation system DVD-based satellite with voice recognition and Bluetooth hands-free, among others.

In the section of accessories available parking sensors front and rear 18-inch wheels and iPod adapter (available from March 2007).

Keyless Access
The keyless access system allows serial close, open and operate the vehicle without a key. The turnkey Legend is equipped with a transmitter that communicates with sensors that are inside the car from a distance of about one meter.

The Legend comes standard with the AFS (Active Front Lighting System) to improve lighting and visibility. In turn, the inner light turns through 20 degrees in response to the signal of the steering wheel and vehicle speed to illuminate more road surface on the side, thus minimizing blind spots.

Honda Civic Type S

The new Civic Type S is a hacthback 3-door, together with the version of the Civic 5-door will complete a range of Japanese compact body styles.

More dynamic
The suspension is adjusted to achieve a more robust chassis dynamics with springs and dampers with a sportier weighed, and a shift from rear wheel 20 mm wider.

The mechanical range will comprise the i-VTEC 1.8-liter petrol and 2.2-liter i-CTDi, both have 140 hp and is accompanied by a 6-speed manual transmission.

The equipment of the 3-door Civic Type S includes alloy wheels 17 inches, stability control system and traction of the vehicle (VSA), climate control, audio control commands embedded in the steering wheel and front airbags, side and curtain . The high range versions also incorporate dual independent climate control, front fog lamps, retractable mirrors, automatic wipers with rain sensors, HID headlamps, heated front seats and panoramic sunroof, among others.

Aesthetic differences
Both trims as the side skirts are fully integrated into the design of the bodywork. In turn, join the front and rear bumpers, completing the structure below, all with a metallic finish that gives it more visual interest. The deep front air intake, along with alloy wheels and 17 inch wide rear wheels step give the Type S a particularly muscular and robust.

Black alcantara seats and leather steering wheel, both with silver inserts, plus aluminum pedals, set the tone of an equally sporty interior. Moreover, its interior is like the 5-door version.

The distance between the hip point of the passengers on the front and the rear is 803 mm, the same as in higher segment cars.

Equally practical
The folding rear seats are also in one movement, so that immediately creates a wide flat space of 485 liters of cargo, as in the 5-door version. In addition, the floor can be removed to reveal a lower compartment. The fuel tank beneath the front seats, does not hinder the loading area and contributes to the efficiency of the cockpit design.

Includes ABS, electronic brake force with brake assist, VSA, front and side SRS airbags, curtain airbags, seatbelts with double pretensioners on the rear seats and active headrests. The instrument panel also includes a safety belt reminder for the front and rear passengers.

It was launched in 2007
The Civic Type S 3-door sets the stage for the next Civic Type R, which is scheduled for spring 2007. The Civic Type R will make its world debut at the Paris Motor Show in September this year.

Honda FR-V 2.2 i-CTDi

The Honda FR-V that mounts the mechanical cycle acclaimed 2.2 CDTi diesel 140 hp. The engine, which gives an excellent performance in the rest of the range that it mounts, it is the goal that addresses this vehicle and if so are its unusual 6 spots arranged in an unusual configuration of 3 +3. Let's see if this minivan that adds to the trade dispute, arguments have gained a foothold among his opponents.

Its interior space is expected in a vehicle of its features. The presence of six beds in 3 +3 position has not meant greater width, but if you look at his body gives the impression anchote. In any case if we pull figures, we realize that we have the same width as a Renault Scenic, to give an example of competition.

The interior layout features six independent seats, mounted in two rows. Both the front and middle seat can slide the rear center back to give passengers on both sides more space out wide, while their backrests folding can be used as a table or to save articles, or provide extra charging. To dispel the baggage claim area only must fold the rear seats are hinged at the floor of the trunk.

We also have a 2 +3 configuration, the third passenger occupies a cargo space than in the FR-V is not affected because the third occupant can ride in the front row. Similarly, traveling with six people, the FR-V is still free trunk space for luggage, while a provision 2 + 3 + 2 jeopardizes the space, and that requires the presence of a third row.

Up to 1049 liters of luggage compartment
This means that the FR-V can carry three passengers and 1,049 liters (VDA) of luggage, and six passengers, can carry 439 liters (VDA). The FR-V is also easy to configure for different loading possibilities. For example, with three passengers and their bikes: the FR-V bicycles can be loaded in the longitudinal, with three passengers sitting in the front seats. In vehicles of competition should be folding a part of the second row and in an order 2 + 3 + 2, even the third row.

The width is 7 cm higher than the front seats and rear. The outer seats are slightly more displaced towards the gates than usual in order to make room for the central plaza. However the width seems to us something small to carry six adults with the desired comfort. The person occupying the central square in both rows may find themselves forced to a position without knowing something to do or where to put the arms. In the case of the central square front is even more forced than in the back and not have too much legroom, the front plaza with longitudinal displacement larger than the rear. It may be a good choice for children from 36 kg (from 12 years in Spain) or for mounting child restraint systems (CRS) of up to 9 kg (from 9 on, always behind) as the systems child restraint higher mass range are more bulky. The space and comfort in the rear seats is correct with the exceptions mentioned.

Its advantages
Honda has paid attention to the convenience of parents, and considered that some children prefer to go ahead with their parents, the front center seat, and like the two outer rear seats, ISOFIX anchorages available. According to Honda, the width of the center seat allows incorporation perfectly a child seat (standard) 460 mm wide. Honda recommends placing the infant seat facing backward in the rear row of seats, for extra security. For children between 9 and 18 kg, you can use a car seat facing backward in the second row or both forward-facing rear seats and the front center seat. If children are placed in the front center seat is recommended to move the seat to its rearmost position to avoid any contact with the airbag and to avoid driver distraction.

For children between 4 and 12 years (13 to 36 kg), all seating positions are valid, unless the front seats. When using the front seats with children over 12 years, Honda recommends placing the seat back in its rearmost position.

More monitoring for children
Above all, this provision allows a child to ride in front with his parents, who in most cases is what children want and yet allows parents to keep them under surveillance, especially when they are very small.

The front middle seat can slide 270 mm (the two front seats are moved outside 230 mm) and set at a total of eleven different positions. Since the middle seat is at its most forward position when the exteriors are in the most backward, the seat can move up to 270 mm behind the front seats.

The interior is not the most practical in its segment. We do not find too many holes to allow at least everyday objects - keys, coins, mobile, wallet ... - in complete comfort. The door pockets and glovebox are of low ability. The gap is more accessible one - of small capacity, which is located in the central area of the dashboard.

The central front seat also can fold - and can be released by pulling a handle behind the seat - to form an armrest. It can also function as a table, thanks to the tray which includes behind the back.

The middle seat can be split, half of which is folded 180 degrees front and becomes a safe space to store items such as small bags, wallets, cameras, etc.. The back seat is another tray with hollow branches, similar to the backrest. And underneath the seat there is still more room to store items, thanks to a sliding tray.

Position the wheel
The seats are rather soft, not too overstuffed envelopes, although they may be comfortable for a number of drivers. The driving position is comfortable and the steering wheel and change are sufficiently accessible. The steering wheel is adjustable in height and depth. In addition, the driver's seat is also adjustable in height and the gear lever is mounted on the dashboard-style Civic, which gives a very intuitive access. The hand brake is mechanical and is located on the dashboard. To operate, simply pick up the controller under the dash and pull. To release a button is pressed at the end of command. This command has a feel somewhat fragile, but it is handled with little effort, resulting in its durability. I personally think that honda should have opted for an electric parking brake as that would take less space, although we understand that favors cost reduction.

Design details
The dashboard design and layout of some controls have a peculiar presentation. The controls for air conditioning and stereo are too far away and force us to overstretch the arm and may come to generate driving distraction. The power window controls are positioned on the dashboard just to the left of the steering wheel and not on the door panels, area for the two controls in most of the cars. Building on that we talk about design, we also drew the attention is on the vsita as belts in the rear seats. through the small window in the rear seats.

The headlights (also the fog) and the wipers operate rotary control. The browser is easy to operate even with a spelling unattractive.

The materials are like "the Japanese", ie hard but they are pleasant to the touch and are generally well adjusted and finished. Our unit had a total of 15,000 km and it was evident some wear of materials and interior upholstery, which gives us an idea of the quality of some of these elements. We liked the nice touch of the hinges of the doors open and close with very little effort.

Motor satisfactory
With a maximum power of 140 hp at 4,000 rpm and maximum torque reaches its maximum value of 340 Nm at 2,000 rpm. It is an engine that has good qualities. It is progressive, smooth and has a satisfactory performance. The noise generated is felt in the cockpit, especially when we move in the high zone of the lap counter. The aerodynamic and mechanical noise is annoying enough to not be as comfortable on long journeys you should probably not be completely sound-proofed interior. Still, we believe that is the version most suitable to move correctly with our FR-V.

The fuel consumption of this version is the tightest market. In excess of 8 liters city while on the road we can get average of 6 liters. It has an approved combined consumption of 6.3 l/100 km.

Behavior
Dynamically is a car that is clearly oriented to comfort and not assimilated in manners more driving dynamics, especially in areas with lots of fast corners. When we cross a ripple, a hump or we simply resting on a turn, the FR-V reacts as if he lacked shock absorbers, ie, as if it were controlled oscillatory movement of the suspension (unsprung weight) and chassis (sprung mass) caused by compression of the springs.

Its performance in slow areas is somewhat better, thanks in part to a dynamic character behind. The engine fails to engage in any case in this kind of circuit. Its linear stability is correct, but is sensitive to wind and high speeds.

The management has a very nice touch and urban use while traveling at freeway speeds. When we start to pick up the pace in fast areas with curves is building up the work and is not shown too precise, but this reaction may be due to the way it has to support our FR-V.

Change is necessary and without having a perfect touch and can be handled thoroughly enjoyable quickly if required. The brakes properly met, but are depleted quickly when we demand a continuous and strong effort.

Equipment
Their equipment consists of stability control, climate control, browser, rain sensor, xenon headlights, heated seats with leather upholstery, sunroof, power mirrors, leather steering wheel and knob, alloy wheels, tinted glass and equipment CD sound.

Honda FR-V

The FR-V is Honda's new compact MPV which is characterized by its flexible interior. Through the combination of seats available in 3 + 3 and the distribution of space and conversion of seats, the FR-V has room for six occupants.

With 4285 mm long, the FR-V is only slightly longer than the average of its competitors, longer than the Fiat Multipla, for example, but shorter than the Touran Voskswagen. Similarly, the width of 1,810 mm is 61 mm less than a Multipla, its direct competitor.

The wheelbase of 2.680 mm, 100 mm is higher in the model of the C-segment Honda, the Civic 5-door, although both vehicles have the same length, which illustrates how the dimensions of the cabin of the FR-V have exploited. In fact, the wheelbase is 60 mm longer than the CR-V model incorporating the same platform.

Aesthetically follows the trail of other brand models as the Accord and S2000. At the bottom, highlight the spoiler with a large central opening flanked by fog lamps (standard on Executive Version). Both the bumper and spoiler are integrated to form a distinct edge that clearly draws the passage of wheels.

Among the strengths of the profile also includes large mirrors with integrated turn-as in the Accord, the windows located directly behind the pillar and coming to the line of the doors and chrome door handles.

The roof line, instead of "threaded the vehicle and joining a nearly vertical tailgate, stops at the C-pillar, where the glass tailgate extends to about 45 degrees and continues on the board of the tailgate where taking some light clusters generously sized.

ESTIMATED 4 STAR EURO NCAP
The design of the body structure has a cross section of the front frame and the frame structure of the remaining phased body, in addition to the six rungs and longitudinal parts, which help disperse the loads effectively. Therefore, it is anticipated that the FR-V gets a rating of four stars in EuroNCAP tests of frontal and side impact protection for occupants, four stars in pedestrian protection and four stars in the newly introduced test protection of children.

The widespread use of high strength steel sheet of different strengths for both the frame to the outer panels reduces weight by nearly 70 kg and optimizes security features before impact. The frame with a phased manner, with front and rear sections offer a unique dynamic stiffness in its class. Specifically, reinforcements were placed around the opening of the tailgate and the quarters of the front and rear shock absorbers.

Honda has worked on noise reduction measures, and thus includes double door seals, a panel at the rear inside wall to reduce noise from road, plenty of insulation, greater thickness of the back frame, wide isolation of the headliner, cast in the floor plate and strengthening the base of the front shock absorbers.

SET SIX SEATS
The interior layout features six independent seats in two rows. Both the front and middle seat can slide the rear center back to give passengers more space out wide, while their backrests folding table or can function as places to store items, or provide extra charging of materials. To dispel the baggage claim area should only fold-down rear seats fold into the floor.

MORE SURVEILLANCE FOR LITTLE ONES
Above all, this provision allows a child to ride in front with his parents, who in most cases is what children want and yet allows parents to keep them under surveillance.

The front middle seat can slide 270 mm (the two front seats are moved outside 230 mm) and set at a total of eleven different positions. Since the middle seat is at its most forward position when the exteriors are in the most backward, the seat can move up to 270 mm behind the front seats. If the passenger is an adult, will have considerable scope to improve its space to the length and width by sliding the seat. However, even with the middle seat moved fully forward, there is still enough leg room, since there is no conventional center console.

The central front seat also can fold - and can be released by pulling a handle behind the seat - to form a wide armrests and comfortable. It can also function as a table, thanks to the tray which includes behind the back.

The middle seat can be split, half of which is folded 180 degrees front and becomes a safe space to store items such as small bags, wallets, cameras, etc.. The back seat is another tray with hollow branches, similar to the backrest. And underneath the seat there is still more room to store items, thanks to a sliding tray with great capacity.

The steering wheel, adjustable in height and depth, allows the driver to find the best position to drive. In addition, the driver's seat is also adjustable in height and the gear lever is mounted on the dashboard-style Civic. The handbrake is located on the dashboard. To operate, just take it down and stretch. To release a button is pressed at its end. The headlights (also the fog) and the wipers operate rotary control.

SECURITY
The front airbags, side airbags for front seat occupants and curtain airbags for front and rear seats are standard on all versions of the FR-V. The front airbags are dual stage. In addition, all six seats have three belts anchor points, the central position incorporated into the front seat and the rear center seat with a double buckle that retracts into the ceiling. The three front seat belts also have pretensioners and load limiters, while the driver is a two phase.

Honda has paid special attention to the safety of children and considering that they prefer to travel in front with his parents, the front center seat, as the two outer rear seats, ISOFIX anchorages available. The width of the center seat allows incorporation perfectly a child seat (standard) 460 mm wide. A baby up to 13 kg, Honda recommends placing it in a baby seat facing backward in the rear row of seats.

For children ages 9 to 18 kg, you can use a car seat facing backward in the second row or both forward-facing rear seats and the front center seat. If children are placed in the front center seat is recommended to move the seat to its rearmost position to avoid any contact with the airbag and to avoid driver distraction.

For children between 4 and 12 years (13 to 36 kg), all seating positions are valid, even if it is one of the front seats, Honda recommends placing the seat back in its rearmost position .

INTERIOR DESIGN
The upper and lower layers of the dashboard are dull dark gray, in contrast to the core layer, which has a glossy black finish. Still in the dashboard, the lower layer contains the glove, a silver center panel with the controls of heating and air conditioning with an inclination of 45 degrees and below, still in the silver zone, a place to keep objects situated between a air outlet and gear knob. Below, a removable ashtray, a lighter and removable cup holders.

Finally, the top surface of the dashboard contains the instrument panel display that controls the serial digital audio, or if it incorporates satellite navigation system (optional on the Executive version), a 7-inch touch screen, and the instrument panel with key indicators. Instrumentation is backlit.

In the bottom center of the dashboard is a removable cup holder that when opened becomes a support for three glasses (500 ml bottles) and above, next to the gear lever, is a hole with a folding lid to keep portfolios , mobile phones etc. Finally, next to the steering column, featured a folding pocket to store loose change and other small items. The middle seat has a tray in its bottom.

The dual climate control and independent in the front seats is standard on all versions of the FR-V, with a system based on the CR-V but with a better way to meet the requirements of a carrier and a larger glazed area. The independent air vent to the right of the center of the dashboard is designed for the center seat occupant. All controls for the climate control is powered by a single touch, and the settings displayed on a digital display. All versions have a fully integrated audio system on the dashboard. The radio single CD player as standard includes four speakers (two in the front doors and two on the sides of the trunk area) and a 30W amplifier for 4 channels.

Executive versions incorporate radio and six CD player, amplifier 40W by 4 channels and six speakers. All versions except the 1.7-liter version, incorporating steering wheel controls for audio control.

ONE GASOLINE AND TWO DIESEL
The mechanical range consisting of two petrol engines of four cylinders: a motor SOHC VTEC 125 hp and 1.7 liter 5-speed manual gearbox, and a DOHC i-VTEC 150 hp and 2.0 liter 6-speed manual gearbox . In the middle of next year they will join the 2.2 liter diesel with 140 hp and Honda already presented in Accrod.

Although many chassis components are unique to the FR-V, including most of the front suspension, steering and much of the rear suspension, the overall design of the suspension is very similar to the design of consolidated CR-V. This translates into a MacPherson strut design with control articulated contact surface, in combination with a steering box mounted high, and the double wishbone with joint strip. The address of the FR-V has a central position which has allowed the length of the bars of the patella in the direction, which increases the control of the interface.

Honda has taken particular care to make the design of the rear suspension is particularly compact to allow the maximum use out into space for luggage.

FR-V models with 2.0 and 2.2 liters are equipped with stability control system and vehicle traction VSA (Vehicle Stability Assist) 4-channel Honda exclusive. All FR-V models are equipped with ABS, and for optimum performance with a system of electronic distribution of braking force (EBD) which adjusts the braking force front and back. The FR-V is equipped with ventilated discs in front and rear discs.

Version 1.7-liter engine is equipped with 195/65R15 tires and steel wheels 6.0 JJ x 15 ", while versions 2.0 and 2.2 liter engine equipped with tires 6.5JJ x 16" (alloy Executive Version) shod with 205/55R16 tires.

The FR-V is available in the Spanish market in its petrol versions. The launch of the FR-V diesel is planned for mid 2005. Prices range from EUR 20,700 up to version 1.7 of the 2.0 Executive € 27,800
