Subaru Impreza WRX STI

The Subaru Impreza WRX STI was initially launched in 1994. It was a powerful racing version was developed by Subaru Tecnica International (STI), an FHI subsidiary specialized in racing activities. Over the years, and as FHI has been increasing its involution in the concept of development of the Subaru Impreza WRX STI, the performance of the car was tapering gradually and became more accessible. The car became a standard model of sport version and presented in the European market in 2001 as the "Impreza WRX STi, based on the second generation Impreza.

With all wheel drive
This third generation Subaru Impreza WRX STI was developed entirely in line with the two previous versions. Benefiting the hallmark of the Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive and Subaru's horizontally opposed turbo engine, the new WRX STI is an all wheel drive sports model.

He decided on a new five-door hatchback body to reduce its inertia. Both amounts of power and torque have been increased to provide good behavior.

The chassis performance is also enhanced through the Dynamic Chassis Control Concept Subaru (Subaru DC3) to provide confidence in driving. The rear suspension system uses dual arm for support on the road and better comfort.

Mechanical technology base Subaru, Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive, has been developed by the System Control Center Differential (DCCD) in multiple settings.

While the AWD provides progressive control over the behavior of the vehicle, the system now equips the system Dynamic Stability Control of multiple settings, to enhance stability.

The flared wheel arches are positioned to more body panels. The interior reinforces the sporting environment, with color combinations and details of interior lighting.

To make this model even more accessible to an even larger market, we have included a number of improvements in safety (side and curtain airbags), environment (better consumption figures) and quality (improved sound insulation and interior comfort progress).

Global benefits
The development of the new Impreza WRX STI has been due in large part to the experience gained in years of participation in the Subaru World Rally Championship (FIA WRC), which won the manufacturers' title three consecutive years ( 95, 96, 97). In this context, FHI plans to submit to the FIA, on 1 January 2008 the application for approval of group N, for the Japanese version of the Subaru Impreza WRX STI 2.0-liter.

Sales of the European version of the new Subaru Impreza WRX STI 2.5-liter, start in the first quarter of 2008.
