Suzuki Grand Vitara

The 2009 Suzuki Grand Vitara is debuting two new engines, both petrol. Besides the familiar 2.0-liter, 140 hp, the range is extended with a new four-cylinder block 2.4-liter, 166 hp and a 3.2-liter V6 for 233 hp, which ranks as the most powerful engine in the range. These two new engines are added to the previous two: the 1.6 liter 106 hp petrol and 1.9-liter turbo diesel DDIS of 129 hp (the latter is of Renault engine).

Improvements in design
Cosmetic changes are focused on the new grille, front bumper and mirrors (with integrated flashing). These aesthetic touches increase the length of the Range 2009 Suzuki Grand Vitara in 30 mm (5-door version).

The range of alloy wheels has also been renewed. The 17 inches are, as in the previous generation 5-arm, but with a different design. In addition, the 3.2-liter version is mounted with new 18-inch wheels.

Regarding the interior, The most obvious is the new dashboard, with more ergonomic controls and distribution of the most rational. In fact, in the upper center console is linking up a speaker (in the version JLX-EL) to give occupants a better sound quality and make it more involving. The instrument panel is also new: it has an integrated display providing complete information to the driver on the most important parameters for easy driving. Also, integrated controls on the steering wheel (controls left / right commands) now incorporate backlight for easy night time driving.

From the standpoint of comfort, they have introduced new seating fabrics, warmer and pleasant to touch. In addition, the center armrest can be moved lengthwise (in the 5-door version). The door handles are now chrome and interior trim are black.

Two new engines
On the mechanical side is where the Suzuki Grand Vitara offers more new features, with two new petrol engines, a 2.4-liter VVT with 166 hp common for versions 3 and 5 doors and a new block 3.2-liter, V6 and 24 valves, exclusive 5-door model, which yields 233 hp. The 3.2-liter V6 (associated exclusively to an automatic gearbox) accelerates from 0 to 100 in just 9.2 seconds and has a top speed of 200 km / h.

The access engine range remains the 1.6-liter VVT known. Has an output of 106 hp to 5,900 rpm and maximum torque of 145 Nm at 4,100 rpm. It reaches 160 km / h top speed and accelerates from 0 to 100 km / h in 14.4 seconds. Their combined average consumption is 8.2 liters.

It follows a 2.0-liter. This engine has an output of 140 hp at 6,000 rpm and maximum torque of 183 Nm at 4,000 rpm. Reaches 175 km / h top speed and accelerates from 0 to 100 km / h in 12.5 seconds. Their combined average consumption is 8.4 liters.

The 2.4-liter VVT has an output of 169 hp at 6,000 rpm and maximum torque of 227 Nm at 3,800 rpm. Reaches 185 km / h top speed (175 km / h with the automatic gearbox) and accelerates from 0 to 100 km / h in 11.7 seconds (12 seconds with the automatic gearbox). Their combined average consumption is 9.0 liters (9.7 liters with the automatic gearbox).

The most powerful engine of the petrol engines is the new 3.2-liter. Has an output of 233 hp at 6,000 rpm and maximum torque of 227 Nm at 3,800 rpm. Reaches 185 km / h top speed and accelerates from 0 to 100 km / h in 11.7 seconds. Their combined average consumption is 9.0 liters. This engine is mated only to a five-speed automatic gearbox.

The diesel engine remains the motor 1.9 DDiS. This propulsortiene an output of 129 hp at 3,750 rpm and maximum torque of 300 Nm at 2,000 rpm. Reaches 170 km / h top speed and accelerates from 0 to 100 km / h in 12.8 seconds. Their combined average consumption is 7.0 liters.

In addition, the Suzuki Grand Vitara has garnered many integers in the section of ride comfort, thanks to the incorporation of new materials that reduce noise from both the motor and tread.

Another aspect to be reviewed are the brakes. Except for the basic version, all other disc brakes feature 4-wheel, ventilated in front. Thus, it improves braking and increases resistance to fatigue.
