Toyota Corolla freshens it's Saloon range to offer better equipment and a new range of engines that consume less fuel and emit fewer emissions. Engines
Thus, the Toyota Corolla Saloon is only available with two engines (a 1.33 petrol VVT-i 101 hp and 1.4 D-4D Diesel 90 hp). Therefore disappear from the engine range 1.6 VVT-i petrol and 2.0 D-4D Diesel. In addition, the 1.4 D-4D is no longer available with automatic transmission.
The gasoline engine is the new 1.33-liter VVT-i Dual system incorporating a 'Stop & Start' that allows turning off the engine when the vehicle stops, getting better mileage and reducing emissions of CO2. With an output of 101 hp, this engine achieves a combined fuel consumption of just 5.8 l/100 km with emissions of 136 g / km.
The diesel version of the range has the D-4D engine 1.4 liters that offers improved performance through a system of piezo injectors to provide more efficient combustion. This unit develops 90 bhp of power with maximum torque increased by 15 Nm and 205 Nm at just 2,800 rpm. Meanwhile, CO2 emissions are reduced by 6 g / km to only 122 g / km with a combined fuel consumption of 4.6 l/100 km.
Both engines are coupled to a new gearbox six-speed manual (as Toyota, offers a high level of satisfaction in driving and optimum fuel economy, getting the engine to reduce friction).
Equipment
The 2009 Toyota Corolla Saloon offers two trim levels. The finished base 'Live' series already offers air conditioning, ABS, EBD and BA as well as front and side front airbags.
The superior finish 'Active' incorporates elements such as automatic climate control, alloy wheels 16''and a higher security level with the knee airbag and curtain.
Optionally, the two finishes can include stability control and traction and metallic paint.
With respect to the interior and suspension, the Toyota Corolla does not receive any changes or modifications.
