Toyota Yaris

After three years the second generation Toyota Yaris shows improvements in design, interior, engines and equipment.

Now, the front body section has a greater integration of the bonnet and bumper, plus moldings have been incorporated for protection and a redesigned light clusters. Also, the radiator grille has a new corrugated mesh, the front wing is larger and the bottom of the chassis has been redesigned to improve aerodynamics.

Improvements inside
The center console is now available in a black color, while the manual control knob of the heating surface has a more textured diamond knurled. Around the center console and on the shifter and steering wheel, has added a chrome finish or titanium. Also available decorated with plates chrome side vents in the interior door handles and the hand brake lever.

The dashboard offers a volume of 18.2 liters for storing objects. The 2009 Range Toyota Yaris has a glove box behind the wheel, a space in the center console for storing small objects such as a mobile phone and another compartment in the driver's side, which can be used for saving documents. In total, Yaris offers only 18.2 liters of capacity on the dashboard (17.1 liters when you have airbags to protect the knees). The door pockets and the compartment below the floor of the trunk provide additional space.

The length of the boot of the Toyota Yaris is of 1,325 mm. with the rear seats folded. Ample space to store items in the boot area, ideal for transporting large objects such as a golf bag.

Regarding safety, the antilock brake system (ABS), Electronic Distribution of effort (EBD) and Brake Assist emergency (BA) are standard equipment that is mounted across the range. The control vehicle stability (VSC) and Traction Control (TRC) are only available as an option.

The Toyota Yaris Range can equip a total of 7 airbags: front and side for both driver and passenger, front and rear curtain and knee airbags for the driver. It also has a warning system of safety belt unfastened for both front seat occupants. It is characterized by having a variable intensity audible according to vehicle speed. Pretensioners and front safety belts with force limiters are standard.

The Toyota Yaris is the first Toyota equipped with the second generation of seats based on the concept of reducing neck injuries due to whiplash (WIL). In the case of a rear impact, you can hold the head movement in a much earlier stage by approximating the headrest to the head of the passenger. The Toyota Yaris is equipped with other important security features such as the deformable steering column and retractable brake pedal. In addition, the driver can deactivate the passenger airbag.
