Volkswagen Jetta

Volkswagen Jetta in New York is presented as a new three-volume saloon for all world markets, in production at the Mexican plant in Puebla.

Volkswagen JettaSu debut on the European continent will be held next October at the Paris Motor Show 2010 Spanish arrive in dealerships in the first quarter of 2011.

A completely new model, bigger
The new Volkswagen Jetta is a model developed entirely from scratch. The German brand has decided to set you on a higher rung on the compact, closer to the Passat but without taking the segment of this model, a strategy similar to that used by Renault Fluence and the new Latitude, both positioned above the Mégane and Laguna, respectively.

Its length is 4.64 meters, 1.78 meters width and height of 1.45 meters, so that is 90 millimeters longer than the current Jetta and the prototype advanced past Detroit, the New Compact Volkswagen Coupe, dimensions that will result in a benefit for passengers, especially the rear, which have a more interior space.

Design: Volkswagen spirit
Despite the increase in dimensions to the concept advanced previously, the NCC and the current Volkswagen Jetta Volkswagen, launched in 2005, the measurements have been offset by increasing the wheel arch in 70 mm and 90 mm external length. The new Volkswagen Jetta shares no body element of the Volkswagen Golf.

Volkswagen JettaLa combination of the external dimensions gives the new Jetta imposing proportions, embossed with Volkswagen design DNA, obtaining a refined body style of the new model. Clear and precise lines combine with athletic, muscular surfaces, providing a precise blend of elegance, dynamism and sportiness.

In the front, takes the calendar feature of the latest models of the brand, black, bright and two singles and thin chrome strips. The calendar serves as a liaison with the trapezoidal headlamps. The bumper has a center tap phone chrome frame with a U-shaped to simulate the connection with the upper grille. This topped with a spoiler designed as a splitter, elements used in high-end sports cars. The design of the hood, V-shaped, has an improved pedestrian protection.

The profile of the body maintains the same shoulder developed on the concept Volkswagen NCC, while it has stylistic elements, such as tornado or line marked wheel arches that serve large sections of the element side surfaces. These features represent a reinterpretation of DNA design approach created by Walter da Silva, Klaus Bischoff, Chief Designer of Volkswagen-Audi Group and Volkswagen, respectively.

Volkswagen JettaLos exterior mirrors have integrated turn signals and its design derives directly from riding the Volkswagen Passat CC, sporty appearance.

At the rear, include new rear lights, fully transparent tulip that extend from the bumper to the line that marks the boundary of the trunk.

More spacious and comfortable interior
The cockpit of the new Volkswagen Jetta is built with higher quality materials, integrated into a more elegant design, ergonomic and comfortable for all passengers, noting in particular that the legroom for rear passengers has increased by 67 mm, due to the increase in wheelbase.

In the driving seat, all controls are arranged in a logical and intuitive position, facilitating their management for the driver. The multifunction steering wheel features controls and central console has been redesigned, offering a slight tilt towards the driver, providing access to air conditioning system, sound and navigation.

The instrument panel dials are more visible and, between the speedometer and tachometer, is a new multifunction display, which serves as board computer, an element that is standard from the most basic version.

Available in three trim levels, with full equipment
The sixth generation of Volkswagen Jetta is available in three trim levels, already known in other models of the brand, identified as Trendline, Comfortline and Highline. From the most basic, standard version is composed by folding rear seats 40/60 asymmetric halves, six airbags (two front, two side and two curtain), commanding opening and closing doors, trip computer, control ESP stability control and tire pressure, among other things.

Six high-tech mechanical ...
2011 Volkswagen Jetta will be available mated to six engines, all for better performance with a significant reduction in fuel consumption and CO2 emissions, thanks to downsizing philosophy, which lowers the capacity and technology combined with overeating, complying with the rule Euro 5 emissions.

Volkswagen JettaAsí, the range of engines available at launch, consisting of two petrol versions 1.2 liter TSI of 105 hp and 1.4 TSI 160 horsepower, while diesel will be two common rail TDI engines , a 1.6 TDI and 105 horses and another, the 2.0 TDI of 140 horses. " Later, make their appearance petrol engines of 1.4 TSI 122 hp and 200 hp 2.0 TSI.

All engines, except for gasoline and most basic economic, are associated with a gearbox six-speed manual and could mount optionally DSG automatic transmission with the same number of speeds, being the same gearbox but with seven-speed TSI for more powerful versions.

... Systems to reduce consumption and exhaust gas
Only Version 1.2 liter TSI petrol and 1.6 TDI diesel technology solutions package BlueMotion Technology, formed by the start-stop system automatic Start / Stop and retrieval system, braking energy.

With these systems, rates of consumption and CO2 emissions of the new Volkswagen Jetta 1.2 TSI Technology BlueMotion is 5.3 miles per gallon and 123 grams of CO2 per kilometer, respectively. In the case of the Jetta BlueMotion 1.6 TDI Technology, consumes 4.1 liters per hundred kilometers and emits 109 grams of CO2 per kilometer.
