Mercedes-Benz E 63 AMG

The new Mercedes-Benz E 63 AMG E-Class is distinguished from normal by the AMG V8 engine of 6.3 liters, the newly developed sport suspension "AMG Ride Control" electronically controlled damping and a new front axle, and specific exterior design and interior.

Available as an option offered new ceramic brake discs. AMG has achieved a reduction in fuel consumption of almost 12% in the new E 63 AMG.

The AMG V8 engine of 6.3 liters of the new Mercedes-Benz E 63 AMG develops an output of 525 hp and a torque of 630 Nm / m as in the SL 63 AMG (see graph). Also inherited from the SL 63 AMG Automatic change "AMG Speedshift MCT 7-speed". This transmission has a torque converter clutch and conventional compact for the uprooted. In combination with the four modes of operation and the Race Start.

The Mercedes-Benz E 63 AMG accelerates from zero to 100 km / h in just 4.5 seconds and reaches a top speed of 250 km / h (self-limited).

The engine has a redesigned cooling system that ensures (as Mercedes-Benz) maximum efficiency even under huge dynamic forces of a race track.

Reducing fuel consumption by 12%
Despite the additional power 11 hp versus the previous model, the fuel consumption of the new generation of Mercedes-Benz E 63 AMG has been significantly reduced to 12.6 liters of gasoline per 100 kilometers, or 12% less than their previous model, achieving the most efficient way to be in the sports sedan over 500 hp. This progress has been made possible through a package of measures to improve efficiency. These include the gas pump operating according to the actual fuel demand management or alternator with energy recovery in the retentions. The engine also reduces friction by spray coating process used on the walls of the cylinder.

The change "Speedshif AMG 7-speed" also has a decisive contribution to reducing consumption of fuel, oil bath clutch replaces the torque converter torn. This unit responds quickly without the typical slip of a torque converter, thanks to its low rotational inertia. The change has four modes: "C" (control efficiency), "S" (Sport), "S +" (Sport plus) and "M" (Manual), which can be selected by a switch on the console central. The brief cancellation of the operation of some cylinders through the interruption of the ignition and fuel injection during gear changes fully loaded, resulting in an immediate transition of gears. In the "M" these changes are made in 100 milliseconds.

Mode "C" is programmed to anticipate the changes to a higher gear and keep the engine speed of the engine as low as possible. At the same time, change "7-speed AMG Speedshif" meets the highest requirements when it comes to driving dynamics is concerned: it is fast and allows for multiple cuts in a row, which guarantees a first-class agility combined with their role double clutch and allow the Race Start the E 63 AMG driver to achieve maximum acceleration capability at all times.

Electronic damper system and a new front axle
A new electronic damping system automatically varies the suspension characteristics under the conditions of use and minimizing the potential body roll. The result is an instant adjustment to provide the best possible comfort combined with maximum flexibility. Additionally, you can choose between the three available sleep modes: Comfort, Sport and Sport Plus.

The Mercedes-Benz E 63 AMG is equipped with a newly developed front axle with a track width of 56 mm larger stabilizer bar, new cross bracing, new dimensions elastocinematik and new wheel hubs that give greater negative fall, providing more grip when cornering at high speed.

The rear axle has also been optimized with new support and a fall negative for stability at the limit.

New steering and a three-stage ESP
For a more direct response to the steering wheel the steering is also parametric redevelopment. With a gear ratio of 14: 1 is 22% more direct than mounted on the rest of the class E, thus ensuring greater accuracy and better contact with the road.

The three-stage ESP, inherited from the Mercedes-Benz SL 63 AMG and C 63 AMG. The ESP button in the AMG control unit allows the driver to choose between "ESP ON", "ESP Sport" and "ESP OFF", showing the chosen mode in the display of the AMG instrument panel. An effective deceleration is guaranteed by the system AMG high performance brakes with front discs 360 mm diameter ventilated and perforated. Particularly resistant, and tested in competition, new ceramic front disc brakes optional guarantee a high output and lower suspended mass. Ceramic brake discs retain their effectiveness even higher operating temperatures, thanks to its increased strength and all combined with a weight reduction of around 40%. The grip and traction tires are guaranteed by the AMG of 9.52 "x18" with tires 255/40 R 18 front and 285/35 R 18 rear.

Design of the body and interior
The chassis of the Mercedes-Benz E 63 AMG has a specific design. The front is characterized by fins 17 mm wider than incorporate the logo "6.3 AMG", the new front apron with large air intakes and lights daytime with AMG specific LED technology. In combination with the optional smart beam headlights, the inner shell of the headlamps is black. At the rear, emphasizes the bumper with a baffle in black to integrate the new AMG sports exhaust system with two twin chrome outlets.

The interior of the Mercedes-Benz E 63 AMG has always delivered the electrically adjustable AMG sports seats with more lateral support and the AMG sport steering wheel spokes and four cams for change. AMG The control unit allows automatic adjustments MCT sports, modes of ESP and suspension settings. The shifter "AMG E-Select" on the center console is also a new feature. Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG

Mercedes-Benz AMG Range SLS 2010 is the new flagship of the brand of the developed three-pointed star, this time by AMG (the first model developed entirely by AMG). This is the relief of the Mercedes SLR, a unique model that was developed under a partnership between Mercedes-Benz and McLaren. His presentation will take place at the Frankfurt Motor Show and will be available to customers of the brand from next spring (Here you out the first information on this model).

The AMG Mercedes-Benz SLS is available from 196.000 €. Transportation is not included in the final price, because the delivery will be done in a personalized manner directly from the factory, pending confirmation or final destination by each customer.

Mercedes-Benz AMG Range SLS 2010 is a model whose main idea is to remember the design and spirit of the legendary Mercedes-Benz 300 SL gullwing was marketed between 1954 and 1963 which gave so much joy to the mark in competitions.

Design
The design of the new Mercedes-Benz AMG Range SLS 2010 snorts purism on all four sides, you look where you look. It is a reinterpretation of the legendary Mercedes-Benz 300 SL Gull Wing at Siglo XXI. Evidence of this is in addition to the features doors, long hood of the engine bay, the low carrier placed far back and short behind. The large radiator grille with the star of the brand presiding, gills on the hood to evacuate the heat from the engine are the most prominent sign of its design. The headlamps incorporate a range of diodes for daylight and the rear lights also recall the mythical model.

The AMG Mercedes-Benz SLS is a sporty two-seater with aluminum body and chassis, gullwing doors, front central engine 6.3 liters AMG V8 with 571 hp and dry sump lubrication and sequential automatic seven-speed double-clutch .

The use of aluminum for the body and chassis makes the unladen weight of this car is 1620 kg, giving a power to weight ratio of 2.84 kg / hp (its weight distribution is 48/52 ).

A 571-hp V8
It has a gasoline engine in atmospheric cinlindros eight V to 6.3 liters. It delivers a power of 571 hp and maximum torque of 650 Nm at 4,750 rpm. With these figures, the Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG accelerates from 0 to 100 km / h in 3.8 seconds and reaches a top speed of 317 km / h.

The use of high stiffness components offset the higher load from the increased engine power. The forged pistons, a reinforced bed, optimized housing structure and a better lubrication with a high pressure pump, are responsible for the durability of the group. Despite the higher loads and stresses on the material, engine weight has been reduced, weighing 206 kg and throwing a weight / power ratio for the engine of 0.36 kg / hp, which puts it in the first rank far ahead of its competitors. Additionally, and due to measures taken in cooling and lubricating the engine, its consumption does not exceed 13 approved l/100 km

Dual-clutch automatic gearbox
The 6.3-liter V8 engine delivers its abundant power AMG via a shaft ultralight carbon fiber - similar to that used in the DTM C-Class. The change is mounted on the rear axle (transaxle layout) and is connected to the engine through a pipe that houses the drive shaft. The advantages of this sophisticated solution are associated with the rigidity of the connection between the engine and the necessary change to the enormous torque delivered. A new AMG shift seven-speed dual clutch takes care of transferring torque to the wheels without jerking when changing gears. The driver can choose between four types of scheduling for changing gears, from the comfortable to the most deportito, including the role RACE START. The limited slip differential, integrated into housing for change, is responsible for optimal motor.

The brake discs are ceramic (weighs 40% less than conventional brakes). The claws are six pistons. The tires are specially developed for the AMG Mercedes SLS (has measure 265/35 R 19 front and 295/30 R 20 rear).

Mercedes-Benz E-Class Coupe

The Mercedes-Benz E-Class Coupé is a model that derives directly from the new E-Class (replaces the Mercedes-Benz CLK). The first versions will be in European showrooms of Mercedes-Benz in early May.

The offer, consisting of five engine models with four, six and eight cylinders, begins with the E 250 CDI Coupé BE, new diesel engine which develops 204BHP. The range of time, then topped with the powerful E 500 Coupe with 388 hp. The Mercedes-Benz E 250 CDI BlueEFFICIENCY Coupé goes on sale in July and the E 250 CGI Coupé will be available in September.

From his body include its excellent coefficient Cx of 0.24, the most efficient market. Only the Toyota Prius and the Mercedes E-Class approach to achieve a coefficient of 0.25 in both cases.

Technologically advanced
Among his technical innovations, the Mercedes-Benz Coupé offers features such as adaptive light control, recognition of traffic signs, automatic emergency braking, adaptive suspension, drowsiness detection, and active safety hood (all this equipment and provides the saloon). Specially designed for the coupe is called dynamic package, which amends a number of parameters of the entire vehicle with the push of a button.

The mechanical range includes two new four-cylinder that consume up to 17% less fuel and provide a significant increase in horsepower and torque. The most representative example is the E 250 CDI Coupé BlueEFFICIENCY, which consumes 5.3 liters per 100 kilometers and emits only 139 grams of CO2 per kilometer, making it one of the most economical cars in its class.

The low consumption of all motors has been achieved through a range of measures which include controlling the operation of fuel pumps and steering, the use of tires with low rolling resistance and control alternator operation depending on the time of driving and on-board voltage and the decisive impact of the extraordinary aerodynamics.

Five engines
Initially, the coupe is available with three petrol engines and two diesels (see data sheets). The diesel-cycle engines consume very little power for the present and the mass that must move. The diesel version is less potent than the 250 CDI BlueEFFICIENCY, which has an output of 204 hp, maximum torque of 500 Nm between 1,800 and 2,800 rpm and an average consumption of 5.3 liters per 100 km. The middle engine is the 350 CDI BlueEFFICIENCY, which has an output of 231 hp, maximum torque of 540 Nm between 1,600 and 2,400 rpm and an average consumption of 6.8 liters per 100 km.

Gasoline engines are more powerful than Diesel. The entry engine range has the same power as the equivalent engine in the diesel versions. Specifically, the 250 CGI BlueEFFICIENCY has an output of 204 hp, maximum torque of 310 Nm between 2,000 and 4,300 rpm and an average consumption of 7.2 liters per 100 km.

For its part, the middle engine (350 CGI) reaches a power of 292 hp, achieved a maximum torque of 265 Nm between 3,000 and 5,100 rpm and features an average consumption of 8.5 liters per 100 km. Finally, the most powerful version of the range is the E 500 Coupe, which has an output of 388 Nm maximum torque of 530 Nm between 2,800 and 4,800 rpm and an average consumption of 10.9 liters.

Adaptive Suspension
The frame features, like the saloon, an adaptive damping system that allows to regulate the hardness of the dampers electronically. Fast cornering maneuvers or lane-change dynamics, the system provides maximum strength of the pads to stabilize the mass in such situations.

Among its extensive equipment, include the preventive system of occupant protection PRE-SAFE. In situations of imminent threat, this team active preventive measures to protect occupants and which allow the belts and airbags fully develop their protective action.

With respect to passive safety equipment, highlights new fatigue warning system, which is part of standard equipment. This device operates using highly sensitive sensors that capture and evaluated continuously over 70 different parameters in relation to driving. It has been seen that a particularly important criterion is the observation of handling the steering wheel: the practical tests conducted by Mercedes engineers over many years show that tired drivers make little mistakes in the operation of the steering wheel that is fixed with a lot quickly and in a characteristic way. A steering angle sensor steering precision detects these patterns.

AMG Package
You can optionally purchase the AMG sport package (see photos). It consists of a bumper skirts AMG specific design, sport seats with more lateral support, seams in contrasting color trim on the seats and armrests, ergonomic sports steering wheel with push buttons, lowered body height, brake system with perforated discs and brake calipers with the Mercedes and alloy wheels with 18-inch AMG design.

The interior features a leather steering wheel, Alcantara lining for the lower roof, the pillars and sun visors, seat upholstery, armrests and door linings in fine nappa leather lining high value of the instrument panel with stitching ornament.

The AMG package can be combined with all engines, as for later Mercedes-Benz presented its own particular version 63 AMG.

Mercedes-Benz SLR Stirling Moss

Mercedes-Benz and McLaren crowned its range of SLR with a new member in the range that will replace the Mercedes-Benz SLR Roadster in 2009. It has a convertible in the body that has no windshield, so that both the driver and the passenger will have to wear a helmet for driving, especially if you drive fast. Mercedes-Benz does not aim if the car is approved for driving with a helmet.

The body is made of carbon FIGRA and painted in a light gray color that is similar to aluminum and decoration of the current McLaren Mercedes Formula 1. Its design is inspired by the Mercedes-Benz SLR 1950.

As an arrow
Aerodynamically it is a very elaborate car: it has a diffuser in the bottom of the rear bumper and a very sharp front. Like the SLR, Stirling Moss version has a spoiler in the back (called Airbrake) that unfolds when braking is done above 120 km / h. This will achieve a more efficient and stable braking. The four exhaust outlets are located on the sides of the bodywork behind the front wheels (two on the left and two on the right).

Inside is also crammed with quality materials with a front-line leather seats (bucket) and part of the dashboard, carbon fiber and aluminum parts produced. Beside the shifter there is a plaque bearing an identifying signature of Stirling Moss.

To protect the interior from the weather or just close it, it should be removed from the trunk two plates made of carbon fiber that serve to cover it (see photo).

The Mercedes-Benz SLR Stirling Moss has a supercharged V8 engine that develops 650 hp and enables you to accelerate from 0 to 100 km / h in under 3.5 seconds, reaching a top speed of 350 km / h, some figures that put you as one of the world's fastest sport.

The Mercedes-Benz SLR Stirling Moss pays tribute to British driver Stirling Moss, English motor racing legend, won more victories in the Mille Miglia and drove the legendary Mercedes-Benz SLR from victory to victory in the 50's.

75 privileged
The Mercedes-Benz SLR Stirling Moss crown SLR range and only 75 produced, which may only be purchased by the owners of a Mercedes-Benz SLR (test). The Mercedes-Benz SLR Roadster will be produced in late May 2009 and in June will take over the Mercedes-Benz SLR Stirling Moss.

Mercedes-Benz Concept BlueZERO

Mercedes-Benz presented at the upcoming International Motor Show in Detroit, to be held between 11 and 25 January, the Mercedes-Benz Concept BlueZERO, a vehicle that will show where the future of electro-mobility environmentally responsible .

Based on a unique construction, the modular concept allows for three models with different drive configurations, can satisfy each requirement of any customer in terms of sustainable mobility:

• E-CELL BlueZERO, with battery and electric motor alone, and a range of 200 km.

• BlueZERO F-CELL (fuel cell) with a range of 400 km and electric motor.

• BlueZERO E-CELL PLUS, with electric motor, battery and an additional endothermic engine to generate power. This version has a range of 600 km and can cover 100 km using exclusively electrical current.

The three versions of the Mercedes-Benz Concept BlueZERO share the same key components, while the design and dimensions are identical. With 4.22 meters in length, the BlueZERO has a five-seat cabin, a payload of 450 kg and a load capacity of 500 liters capacity.

Compared with electric cars developed from conventional platforms originally designed for use with internal combustion engines, the Mercedes-Benz Concept offers BlueZERO sandwich concept with its advantages:

• The interior space is maintained as in conventional vehicles. Batteries and generators are housed in the sandwich floor, so no commitment at all the space for occupants, and volume for luggage or modularity.

• The engine integrated in the sandwich provides a low center of gravity and, consequently, a high agility.

• The security against collisions corresponds to the standard Mercedes through the sandwich concept and accommodation of the engine between the axles.

Thrusters
The three Mercedes-Benz Concept BlueZERO are front-wheel drive and include lithium-ion batteries liquid cooled, the latest generation with a loading capacity of 35 kWh and an electric motor capable of a momentary peak power of 136 hp (or 95 HP continuous mode) with a torque of 320 Nm. Each of the three versions accelerates from 0 to 100 km / h in under 11 seconds and its top speed is limited to 150 km / h, in order to obtain an optimal range of energy efficiency.

With a load capacity of 15 kW, powerful lithium-ion batteries in BlueZERO E-CELL and the E-CELL PLUS BlueZERO can store energy in 30 minutes of charging for 50 km. In one or two hours of charging can enable a range of 100 or 200 km respectively. Load times are doubled if the load capacity is 7 kW, as in the case of a conventional home.

In the rear, Concept Mercedes-Benz E-CELL PLUS BlueZERO houses the same engine that powers the smart fortwo, a three-cylinder 1.0-liter turbocharged, to increase autonomy. This small motor develops 68 hp at constant speed of 3,500 rpm. If necessary, you can recharge the lithium-ion battery 17.5 kwh through the alternator is fitted. With a single fuel tank autonomy reached 600 km. If you use only the electric motor without recharging, autonomy is 100 km. For its part, the F-CELL BlueZERO equipped with fuel cell has a range of 400 km.
