Mitsubishi i MiEV Sport

Based on the Mitsubishi i MiEV urban market in Japan, the i MiEV SPORT is an evolution of the driving characteristics of the electric car from Mitsubishi. The mounts Mitsubishi i MiEV Mitsubishi Motors innovative in-wheel attached to the wheels in the front and the S-AWC (Super All Wheel Control), the sophisticated dynamic control system developed by the company to achieve high maneuverability and high dynamic performance and environmental compliance.

Its design
Geometry, metallic materials and body's own electric vehicles anticipate future of the company. The interior lighting has also been carefully designed using LEDs. Outside lights have a green light. The pearlescent paint luminescent, glow when hit with direct light.

As in the case of the Mitsubishi i MiEV, Mitsubishi i MiEV SPORT uses a design with a rear-midship layout. Capitalizing on the long-wheelbase platform, a lithium-ion battery high capacity is installed on the bottom floor and components including a motor and inverter are arranged beneath the luggage compartment . This layout provides optimal weight distribution between front and rear, and helps lower center of gravity.

The aluminum structure, a combination of aluminum extrusions and aluminum die casting is lightweight, rigid and strong, helping to improve benefits because of reduced weight. The optimum layout of structural members, including the front and the spreaders, absorb the energy generated in a front-end or side impact.

In case of rear impact, the components of the rear seats and rear floor serve as a barrier to ensure the integrity of the carrier. Through the rear-midship layout and utilizing Mitsubishi's latest technology RISE (Reinforced Impact Safety Evolution).

Engine / S-AWC
The system consists of three permanent magnetic engines synchronized. An in-wheel motor is placed in each of the front wheels, and a single motor drives the rear wheels, as with the "i" MiEV. E-4WD system (4-wheel-drive electric) electronically optimizes the output of all motors.

Additionally, a new E-AYC (Electric Active Yaw Control) is used to directly regulate torque at the left and right rear wheels via an electric motor. Addition to the E-4WD and E-AYC, the S-AWC system integrates ABS and ASC (Active Stability Control), thus independently controlling the power, traction and braking at all four wheels for a total maneuverability and better stability.

Energy saving
The effective use of energy is achieved by installing an auxiliary photovoltaic generator on the roof, a power generation unit within the grid and regenerative braking functions to recover energy when the car is slowing. Most of the lighting the LEDs provide low power, including taillights and interior lights. The efficiency of the air conditioning is enhanced by the use of heat absorbing glass. Additionally, the Green Plastics Green Plastic (Mitsubishi Motors technology for resin-based plastics plants), is used in all possible components of the interior, as a further contribution towards the environment.

Mitsubishi Concept-cX

It is a prototype that has a direction of a compact SUV for regular use and occasional road outside.

High levels of performance in driving and environment are achieved by combining a newly developed engine 1.8 l Practicality is enhanced with a position of high visibility and good access to the trunk through the split tailgate, a very welcome detail on the Outlander.

At the front end design combines an inverted trapezoidal grille and sharp optics, a style that defines the new face of Mitsubishi, which began with the new Lancer range. The rear features a T-shaped rear window and the split tailgate.

S Low Emissions
The combination of a new 1.8 l engine Clean Diesel with a gearbox Twin Clutch SST. This engine is the forerunner of a new family of engines will be launched during 2009, this powerplant is characterized by a variable geometry turbocharged generating optimum pressure in all regimes, and to incorporate the latest technology particulate filter. It has a 4WD system similar to the Outlander, which controls all functions of the vehicle dynamics.

Energy-absorbing materials with different features have been incorporated into the lower bumper, to serve as padding in case of impact and minimize leg injuries to pedestrians, while improving the ability to recover bumper itself to its original shape when the impacts are minor. Additionally, the use of "green plastics" from Mitsubishi, in all parts and places as possible, is another contribution towards environment.
