Porsche Boxster Spyder

Porsche Boxster Spyder is the third version, after the Range 2009 Porsche Boxster and Porsche Boxster S. Be presented next December to mark the Auto Salon in Los Angeles and notable for being the lightest model of whole range of branded products and a tribute to the legendary Porsche 550 Spyder, 1953.

With the same chassis as the Porsche Boxster S
It maintains the same dimensions, with a total length of 4,342 mm, 1,801 mm wide, 1294 mm tall and a wheelbase of 2415 mm.

Nor has variations in the traction system, transmitting power to the ground by the rear axle, although it has some variations in the suspension system that leaves the body and twenty millimeters lower center of gravity is also lower.

The braking system is four ventilated discs made of cast steel and can be mounted with the extra carbo-ceramic PCCB brakes.

The lightest model in its current range of Porsche products
But what is most striking is the impressive amount of weight: 1275 kilograms only. This amount of weight is due to the elimination of some elements considered superfluous, and the use of lightweight materials in the manufacture of certain structures, parts and components.

Some elements have been replaced are the interior door handles by a ring of material and the hydraulic system of the electric canvas roof that now is a simple canvas roll manually.

The elements in this slaughter are slimming automatic climate control (air conditioning fitted as standard) and the sound system that cuts the weight of three kilograms. However, the slimming is not limited only to the elimination of elements but the introduction of parts made from lightweight materials, such as doors made of aluminum and that lower weight fifteen pounds each or the For seats whose structure, carbon fiber, is twelve kilograms less compared to normal seats Porsche Boxster Range 2009.

The first Porsche Boxster with a canvas roof manual
Porsche Boxster Spyder is the first model of the brand to incorporate a canvas roof and manually roll must be kept in the small trunk located in the front of the car, the gap is closer to the front bumper.

Porsche says the philosophy of this model is to shoot into the sky as roof and mount the fact that this canvas is only as a courtesy to protect against inclement weather.

The body: a tribute to the Porsche 550 Spyder
While most of the body hardly any differences compared to a Porsche Boxster, yes there is an element that is particular to this version and are lumps behind the seats.

You could say that those same bumps and mounted the Porsche Carrera GT and would be true but riding this model are clearly inspired by the Porsche 550 (also known as the Porsche 550 Spyder, 550 Carrera or 550 RS), a model that as this new version of the Boxster was a sports car with roadster body produced between 1953 and 1956.

On the hood, a new spoiler is fixed, a distinguishing element of the standard versions, as these are the electrically retractable. Also, a huge black and vinyl with the brand name adds a touch of distinction, while decorating the bottom of the sides.

Porsche 911 Sport Classic

The Porsche 911 Sport Classic is a special series limited to 250 units from the rear-drive Carrera S. Be presented at the International Motor Show in Frankfurt (IAA), to be held from 17 to 27 September 2009. Sales of Porsche 911 Sport Classic begin in January 2010.

This version has been developed by "Porsche Exclusive" for a period of three years. "Porsche Exclusive" is the Special Department Porsche developing these special versions in which, according to the German firm, using quality higher standards.

This special edition is distinguished at first sight for the double-vault roof of new development. Another feature is the rear of the body, widened 44 mm and a gauge expanded. The front spoiler has been designed exclusively for this special series. The rear wing is fixed, like the spoiler "duck tail" inspired by the rider on the Carrera RS 2.7 of 1973.

Boxer engine 408 HP
The mechanics comes from the direct injection engine 3.8 from Porsche, with an increasing power for the occasion with the addition of an intake manifold resonances with use of new development, with six shots that incorporate mobile butterflies controlled depression. The power increases by 23 hp to reach 408 hp.

The Porsche 911 Classic Sport is equipped exclusively with a manual gearbox six marches. It also incorporates ceramic brakes PCCB Porsche Ceramic Composite Brakes, PASM sport suspension system which lowers the ride height by 20 mm, mechanical limited-slip rear differential and 19-inch custom wheels.

The interior has a dark environment. The centerpieces of the seats and door panels are upholstered in soft leather and thread. The seats are topped with a leather trim light gray. The dashboard and other interior components are finished in Espresso Natural leather, contrasting well with the color "Gray Sport Classic" of the body.

Porsche 911 GT3 RS

Regarding the Porsche GT3 "RS" is a version with a more powerful engine, reduced weight, a shorter exchange relations and a more sporting chassis. This paves the sports version to approve the competition model of the 911 GT3. Like its predecessors, continues to be a sports car approved for road use. Here's more information on the previous model.

15 hp more powerful than the GT3
The engine is based on that used by the 911 GT3. That engine has a displacement of 3.8 instead of 3.6 liters and achieves even greater potency, in addition to lap up more quickly and dynamically.

The engine of the Porsche 911 GT3 RS develops 15 hp more power than the 911 GT3, to 450 hp. That translates into a specific output of more than 118 hp per liter for this six-cylinder mechanics. According to Porsche, this engine is perfectly suitable for everyday use.

The Porsche 911 GT3 RS is offered exclusively with a six-speed manual transmission, optimized to achieve some short routes leverage, low weight and greater efficiency. Exchange relations have been shortened in relation to the 911 GT3.

The performance of the Porsche 911 GT3 RS is almost identical to the GT3. The GT3 RS has a top speed of 310 km / h (2 km / h less than the GT3) and accelerates from 0 to 100 km / h in 4.0 s (0.1 seconds faster than the GT3). However, there are major differences in the consumption figures, the Porsche 911 GT3 RS expenditures 19.4 l/100 km in urban tour (the GT3 spends 19.8 l/100 km), 9.6 l/100 km on the road (the GT3 spends 8.9 litres/100 km) and 13.2 l/100 km in combined cycle (the GT3 spends 12.8 l/100 km).

A racing chassis
The Porsche 911 GT3 RS is equipped with a first PASM suspension specially developed for this model, which also has much wider channels at the rear axle and the front (PASM suspension hardness is variable). Likewise, the body of the new 911 GT3 RS is also wider on both axes and has, therefore, some extended wheel arches.

The tires have some action sport 245/35 ZR 19 and nine inches wide at the front, and 325/30 ZR 19 with a width of 12 inches in the rear.

The engine mounts are fitted as standard which also helps improve vehicle behavior. Depending on driving conditions, varies the stiffness and damping effect of these media, thus improving the connection between the engine and body when driving under very dynamic conditions.

Aerodynamics and weight
Another key point of the Porsche 911 GT3 RS is the aerodynamics, developed to provide greater support than the GT3. CX is its drag coefficient of 0.33 (on the GT3 is 0.32). To improve the qualities also in competition, Porsche will launch a new element in 2010: a lithium-ion battery replaces the conventional, thereby reducing the weight by more than 10 kg (the Porsche 911 is lighter).

The Porsche 911 GT3 RS has built a new rear wing in carbon fiber with a specially designed aluminum stands and dual exhaust outlets made in super lightweight titanium.

Aesthetically, this version is characterized by offering specific aerodynamic attachments and a special decoration (alloy wheels, mirrors, front bumper mouth and "Aletin" side of the rear wing is colored red). In addition, the side of the body (both sides) is decorated with a checkered flag and a legend that reads "GT3 RS".

Inside highlights Baquets whose seats. The headrest can read the legend "RS 3.8", which honors the release name and engine capacity. Another element that stands in the cockpit are rollover bars. Safety belts, the legend "RS 3.8" located in the headrests of the seats, roll bars and door handles are painted red.

The new Porsche 911 GT3 RS will go on sale in January 2010.

Porsche 911 Turbo Coupe

The new range of Porsche 911 Turbo debuts a new 500 hp engine that, besides winning potential, combines a substantial improvement in fuel consumption. Plus now the 911 Turbo weighs less (15 kg less). With these enhancements, the maximum speed is higher and the dynamic qualities are superior.

The marketing of the new Porsche 911 Turbo, both Coupe and Cabriolet version will be launched on 21 November 2009.

This model is constructed in the German factory in Zuffenhausen. Public presentation will take place at the Frankfurt Motor Show, to be held from 17 to 27 September.

Engine Debuts
One of the most important components of this seventh generation of the Turbo is the new 3.8-liter engine, which gives a maximum power of 500 hp. In 35-year history of Turbo, is the first time that the engine has been developed in full, bringing innovations such as direct fuel injection and the unique geometry turbocharger with variable turbine in a gasoline engine. And, optionally, the new six-cylinder may be associated with the first gearbox and seven-speed dual clutch (commercially this change is called "PDK"-Doppelkupplung-).

Models equipped with the PDK box can be incorporated, optionally, a new three-spoke steering wheel with levers as an alternative to standard with steering wheel buttons for changing gears. Fixed rigidly to the wheel, the right cam gear used to raise and lower left.

In combination with the Sport Package Sport Chrono Package Turbo (optional), both the steering wheel with buttons cams and present with an integrated display for the Launch Control mode and modes Sport / Sport Plus, the design is different in each of the two midfielders.

Faster and less consumption
The Porsche 911 Turbo reduces CO2 emissions compared to its predecessor in almost 18%. Therefore, now spends only between 11.4 and 11.7 l/100 km, under the rules EU5. Still, accelerates from 0 to 100 km / h in 3.4 seconds and reaches 312 km / h speed limit.

The dynamic qualities are also better, thanks largely to an electronic AWD system PTM and PSM stability control (Porsche Stability Management), and the help of the new Porsche Torque Vectoring (PTV), which includes locking rear differential variable available as an option.

Porsche 911 GT3

Porsche 911 GT3 The Range 2009 is a fully fledged sports, but is fully homologated for the road, has a number of qualities that make him a race car. In fact, Porsche has applied all their knowledge in competition to design this model. Over its predecessor, is a car more powerful, faster and more efficient.

The Range 2009 Porsche 911 GT3 will make its world premiere at the Geneva Motor Show on March 3 and European sales begin in May.

20 hp more powerful
The Range 2009 Porsche 911 GT3 has a naturally aspirated six-cylinder engine that develops an output of 435 hp, 20 hp more than the previous model. This result is achieved, first and foremost, by increasing capacity by 200 cc, to remain at 3.8 liters, and by improving the exchange of gases: VarioCam system now regulates not only admission but also trees exhaust cam first.

Another important point is that, through its increased power and performance, the boxer engine also provides a significant increase in the medium torque rpm, a benefit particularly relevant in everyday use. Undoubtedly, this translates into a significant improvement in performance. The new GT3 accelerates to 100 km / h from standstill in 4.1 seconds and reaches 160 km / h in 8.2 seconds. The maximum speed of 312 km / h.

The second key point in the development of the Porsche 911 GT3 Range 2009 has been improving the car's dynamic qualities. For the first time the 911 GT3 has a decidedly sporty variant of PSM (Porsche Stability Management), which offers the option to disable both Stability Control (SC) and Traction Control (TC) in different stages. And so the driver has no restriction, these functions are not reactivated automatically even in the most extreme driving conditions, it is necessary to press the button again.

More stable and effective
The Range 2009 Porsche 911 GT3 offers more grip and better stability at high speeds also. The specific modifications made to the aerodynamics of the vehicle downward forces increase, both in the front or rear, to the extent that the total pressure that pushes the car down is more than double what it had the previous model. At the same time, the new aero package provides the Range 2009 Porsche 911 GT3 distinct look, accentuated with the new bi-xenon headlamps, rear LED pilots and air inlets and outlets modified.

Active Suspension PASM Porsche 911 GT3 Range 2009 has again allowed Porsche engineers to do some roll bars and stiffer springs, for greater accuracy in the vehicle driving mode and PASM sports while maintaining the comfort suitable for everyday use in normal mode PASM. Also the tires are new, lighter and a design competition, in addition to having a central locking system and high performance tires. Even the GT3 features a tire pressure monitoring.

With these dynamic characteristics and increased power, the braking system was obviously improved in the same proportion, following an ancient tradition of Porsche. The brake discs now have a higher friction surface and the aluminum center support to further reduce weight. On the other hand, there is one more step in the brake ventilation, ensuring that the braking force is maintained in a constant shape for long periods. And, as an option on the Range 2009 Porsche 911 GT3, remain PCCB ceramic brakes made specifically for this model.

More Sports
From autumn, Porsche 911 GT3 Range 2009 is available with very convenient choice for vehicle use in circuit: new motor mounts Padma (Porsche Active Drivetrain Mount). This mechanism is based on the engine that recognizes when it implemented a sporty driving style, as in a competition, and makes the suspension of the engine, which is usually elastic, becomes more rigid and resistant. This is achieved by maintaining the comfort of daily traffic GT3, while the car for the circuit is not affected by mass transfer of the motor, as would occur in fast corners with conventional media.

An additional advantage is the improved traction of the car under acceleration from standstill.

Another element that is new in this model is the optional system to raise the front axle and increase the ground clearance of the car, very useful in bumpy surfaces or steep ramps, for example, the entrance to a garage. Pressing a button shaft rises 30 mm.

Porsche Boxster

The Porsche Boxster Range 2009 debuts a new six-cylinder boxer engine of 255 hp that may be accompanied with an automatic gearbox, dual clutch (called PDK). It presents light in aesthetic improvements and equipment.

With a displacement of 2.9 liters, the engine "core" develops a maximum power of 255 hp, up 20 hp on the previous model and 10 hp less than the Porsche Cayman. The 3.4-liter engine versions of S, which benefits from direct fuel injection (in the former was indirect), now reaches 310 in the Porsche Boxster S (10 hp less than the Porsche Cayman), which is a increase of 15 hp. With all this achieves an excellent power to weight ratio of 5.2 kg / hp. The Porsche Boxster S associated with the dual-clutch box "PDK" offers an acceleration from 0 100 km / h in 5.9 seconds (1 second less than the Porsche Cayman).

New dual-clutch box
With the PDK transmission, the Porsche Boxster Range 2009 featuring the new 2.9-liter boxer engine of 255 hp gets approved an average consumption of 9.2 liters, which means 11% less than previous models equipped with Tiptronic S change . Meanwhile, the 3.4-liter versions with PDK transmission able to reduce consumption by 16% over the previous version with the change Tiptronic S.

The automatic gearbox double clutch (called PDK - Porsche-Doppelkupplung), replaces the Tiptronic S transmission With this new change, the Porsche Boxster Range 2009 is 0.1 seconds to accelerate from 0 to 100 km / h 0.1 seconds faster than with manual gearbox with six gears. The versions equipped with the change "PDK" incorporate an exclusive option package (called "Sports Chrono Package, which includes a function to assist the exit from stationary (called" Launch Control ") and another (called" Race Track Gearshift Strategy - Strategy shifter to track competition, which allows a faster gear change). Both functions get the Range 2009 Porsche Boxster accelerates from 0 to 100 km / h 2 tenths faster.

Cosmetic changes in the body are mainly focused on either the front or rear. The Porsche Boxster Range 2009 features new halogen headlights with integrated turn (are reminiscent of the lights from the Carrera GT), while new taillights with LED technology now have a different style.

Ahead, the Porsche Boxster Range 2009 are clearly different for the new design of air intakes, and in the rear, by a renewed integrated diffuser at the bottom.

For the first time the Porsche Boxster Range 2009 is available with a leading lighting package Xenon headlights, dynamic cornering lights and daytime running lights with LEDs. Replacing conventional fog lamps, these sets of lights four LEDs are placed beside each other.

More sportiness in its chassis
The suspensions offer a new set-up (as Porsche to drive the dynamics). The changes reduced the power steering system, in addition, the stress on the wheel, giving the Porsche Boxster Range 2009 agility and quicker response.

The tires have a new design and are half an inch wider than the previous base models, in order to accommodate a larger braking system on the front axle Version S. The Porsche Boxster Range 2009 is the latest generation of Porsche Stability Management (PSM), which now offers two new features preload brakes and brake assist. Whenever the driver pull off the throttle very quickly (which is typical when going to produce an emergency braking maneuver) the hydraulic control unit of the PSM provides a suitable pressure level in the brake circuit, before including the driver push the pedal, plus the pads closer to the discs for immediate action.

This will significantly improve brake response and shorten stopping distances. When he recognizes that the driver is braking in an emergency, thanks to a very fast operation on the brake pedal and the force with which one steps, the hydraulic control unit provides the pressure PSM requires the brake system for maximum power to detain the vehicle.

New audio and communication systems

Porsche 911

Porsche 911 Range of 2008. The four new models (two coupes and two cabriolets) with classic rear-wheel drive offer even better dynamic qualities thanks to its new six-cylinder boxer engine with 3.6 liter and 3.8 respectively.

Moreover, the first incorporation of a system of direct fuel injection on a Porsche sports, along with optional gearbox Porsche-Doppelkupplung dual-clutch (PDK), makes the new 911 in a vehicle even sportier and dynamic.

The Porsche Carrera Coupe equipped with the PDK change achieved an average consumption of 9.8 liters per 100 kilometers. Moreover, together with the entire range intakes Porsche 911 Carrera located significantly below the mark of 11 l/100 km, CO2 emissions are also reduced by 15%.

Maximum output of the Porsche 911 Carrera with a 3.6-liter engine increases by 20 hp, reaching 345 hp. Meanwhile, the Porsche 911 Carrera S fitted with 3.8-liter engine also achieves impressive figures, the 30 hp power increase and be at 385 hp. With this increase in power, the Carrera S Coupé has a top speed slightly above 300 km / h.

Change double clutch
With the latest generation of Porsche 911 Range 2008 will be available for the first time a gearbox dual clutch, the new Porsche-Doppelkupplung (PDK). This new seven-speed box combines the driving comfort of an automatic transmission and dynamics in the gearshift of a sequential racing box. And since PDK transmission also incorporates the function automatically replaces the Porsche Tiptronic S change in both the Carrera and the Carrera S. Through its optimized change programs that adapt to driving conditions, the box PDK improves the car's acceleration and reduces fuel consumption to the lowest levels ever achieved.

This system of double-clutch shift, barely interrupted tensile strength and sending the engine to the wheels, thanks to double clutch and the proximity of the reducers between gears, Porsche had already developed for racing over 25 years. The official drivers of the brand has benefited from this technology, allowing them to accelerate faster than their competitors and keep both hands on the wheel while carrying gear changes, thus preventing any minimal distraction.

More features
The pioneering progress in the past now provides the Porsche 911 Carrera S an even better performance: Equipped with seven-speed PDK box, the Carrera S Coupé accelerates from 0 to 100 km / h in 4.5 seconds, 0.2 seconds faster that with the six-speed manual gearbox. And customers are looking for a dynamic qualities are able to optimum transmission combine PDK with Sport Chrono Plus option, including the Launch Control. The result is a dramatic acceleration from standstill without loss of traction and a racing gear shifts, they get the Carrera S Coupé reaches 100 km / h in a staggering 4.3 seconds.

The new generation Porsche 911 shows slight cosmetic changes. Features new headlamps with LED technology. The lights with LEDs for daytime driving and bi-xenon headlamps, which are now standard on all new models in the Carrera range, offer a silhouette of the 911 even more stylized and unique look, complete with new pilots later, also LED technology, which ensure an unmistakable presence from a backplane. Optionally and in addition to security, Porsche now offers directional lights on all models.

Porsche 911 GT3 RSR

The version for this season's Porsche GT3 RSR comes with important modifications. The most powerful race car based on the Porsche 911, which last year took the victory in their category at the 24 Hours of Le Mans and the 24 Hours of Spa, and the overall victory in the 24 Hours of Nürburgring, framed competes in the GT2 class of international test of endurance.

The most distinctive element of the new Porsche 911 GT3 RSR is the front, which receives significant improvements in aerodynamics. However, the main innovations are hidden and are related to the optimized weight of the body.

In addition to the easily recognizable additional spoilers on the front, a more effective air intakes, with side exits and new design, generate more downforce and reduce drag. The back, including the wing, is taken from the previous model. Also there are significant changes in the suspensions, which greatly increase the grip of the car and allow a wider range of settings.

The 3.8 boxer engine Porsche 911 GT3 RSR remains unchanged in its basic aspects, although it has improved slightly in some details. It develops 465 hp at 8,000 rpm and boasts peak torque of 430 Nm at 7250 rpm. The rev limiter of the efficient six-cylinder cut to 9,400 rpm.

New sequential transmission
Most of the technical advances that shows the new gearbox in the 911 GT3 RSR is the result of experience gained with the prototype RS Spyder. The sequential six-speed transmission developed by Porsche engineers, is considerably lighter than its predecessor and gets substantially reduce internal friction. The newly designed transmissions allows teams a wider range of suspension settings.

Alongside the GT3 Cup and the GT3 Cup S, the Porsche 911 GT3 RSR is the third race car based on the 911 that offers Porsche Motorsport. At present they are producing 35 units of the fastest and most powerful race car built in Weissach resistance, outside the exclusive RS Spyder prototype, to deliver equipment to customers around the world.

Porsche 911 GT3 Cup

The new Porsche GT3 Cup next season will come with an engine that increases
its power to 420 horsepower. The model will take part in the races of the Porsche Mobil1 Supercup, the international championship of the world's fastest single-brand and national trophies in the Porsche Carrera Cup and GT3 Cup, disputed in various countries.

In the production line in Stuttgart-Zuffenhausen was built 265 units of this model of car-based racing series and developed in Weissach, which will set a new record for a car of this category.

The most important change compared to last year's model is the new form on the back, following the design of the production vehicle. Vents ensure better heat dissipation in the back. The six-cylinder boxer engine and 3.6 liters, developed in Weissach is also based on tourism street and get a maximum power of 420 hp, 20 more than in the previous generation. The sequential six-speed transmission with interruption of engine power enables the driver to shift up a gear without releasing the throttle or the clutch. The gearbox has been optimized and the relations of each gear tailored to the characteristics of the engine. With a net weight of 1,150 kilos in the race, the new 911 GT3 Cup has a power to weight ratio of 2.7 kg / hp.

As a unique touch, the 26 units of the 911 GT3 Cup for the Porsche Mobil1
Supercup will be equipped with a special exhaust system to give a hoarse sound that recalls the scene of Formula 1 testing, and with the ceramic brakes PCCB (Porsche Ceramic Composite Brakes). Compared with conventional disc brakes, the 20 kilos of PCCB reduces unsprung masses and set new standards in terms of response and fatigue life.

The racing cars entered in the various Carrera Cup championships around the world will have a modified exhaust system and steel disc brakes.

The Department of Racing Porsche in Weissach is responsible for the development of the 911 GT3 Cup Deliveries are made directly from Weissach, according to the original schedule and the destination country. Porsche Cayenne GTS

With the new Cayenne GTS, Porsche AG is reiterating the successful Cayenne series' prominence in the sporty SUV segment. The model, which celebrates its world premiere at the International Motor Show in Frankfurt, features the 4.8-liter V8 engine enhanced, its height has been lowered by 24 millimeters and has a specially developed chassis: it is the first Cayenne to feature the damping system Porsche Active Suspension Management (PASM) with steel springs. This combination was previously reserved exclusively for Porsche sports cars (911, Boxster and Cayman).

The 4.8-liter engine with direct fuel injection (DFI) in the Cayenne GTS achieves an output of 405 hp at 6,500 rpm (20 hp more than the Cayenne S). Maximum torque remains unchanged and is 500 Nm at 3,500 rpm.

The GTS, the sportiest of Porsche SUVs, comes as standard with the same gearbox and six-speed manual gearboxes that brings the Cayenne S (4,1:1 respective reducers and 3,55:1) . The Cayenne GTS can thus accelerate from 0 to 100 km / h in just 6.1 seconds, ie 0.5 seconds faster than the Cayenne S.

The Cayenne GTS is fitted with Porsche Traction Management (PTM), the quattro permanent four-wheel drive and the adaptive PASM chassis. To improve its handling and ride comfort are available as an option, air suspension and active stabilizer bar system Porsche Dynamic Chassis Control (PDCC). The new design sports seats and the mix of leather and Alcantara emphasize the sporty interior.

The new Cayenne GTS is instantly recognizable: the front and rear that are identical to those of the Turbo version has a widening of 14 mm in the wheel arches, providing enough space to accommodate alloy wheels brings 21-inch standard, with 295/35 R21 tires. There have been two new colors reserved exclusively for the GTS: GTS Red and Nordic Gold Metallic.

With Tiptronic S transmission, the new Cayenne model has an average consumption of 13.9 liters per 100 km in accordance with European Union standards.

Porsche 911 GT2

Porsche presented the new 911 GT2 at the next Frankfurt Motor Show, the 911 fastest ever homologated for road use. Its striking design with large air intakes at the front and a large rear wing so characteristic of this model is a foretaste of the power and performance that we find in the new 911 GT2, the fastest version in sporting history Porsche excellence.

Available exclusively with rear-wheel drive and manual gearbox six marches, the athlete accelerates from 0 to 100 km / h in just 3.7 seconds and reaches a top speed of 329 km / h, with an incredible consumption fuel, 12.5 liters per 100 kilometers under the new European standard NEDC (New European Driving Cycle), a figure impossible to achieve in a sport of such benefits in a few years ago.

The engine is based on the six-cylinder boxer 911 Turbo, equipped with two turbochargers with variable turbine geometry (VTG). This mechanism achieves a 3.6-liter power of 530 hp at 6,500 rpm and maximum torque of 680 Nm is maintained consistently between 2,000 to 4,500 rpm. Thanks to its lightweight, weighing only 1440 kilos, the 911 GT2 offers a power to weight ratio of just 2.72 kg per horsepower.

The increase in engine power compared to "basic" in the new 911 GT2 is a consequence of the two turbochargers with a larger compressor wheel and a flow-optimized turbine, which gets a boost pressure even higher. And for the first time Porsche's engineers have combined the turbocharged engine with an intake manifold that allows the air to expand, a revolution in this type of mechanism.

This manifold uses the principle of oscillating air in the tube during the expansion phase of the intake air, which keeps the temperature of the fuel / air mixture lower than in the 911 Turbo. This translates into a significant increase in efficiency, with fuel consumption at full load 15% lower, despite the increased power.

The 911 GT2 offers new achievements also in the field of management and control of pollutant emissions: This is the first Porsche homologated for the road which leads as standard silencer and tailpipes made of titanium post. It is an expensive material, but reduces the weight by about 50%, or approximately 9 kilos, compared to the same parts made of stainless steel.

The new 911 GT2 comes with ceramic brake discs (PCCB), a material that ensures maximum braking power with a fatigue infinitely superior. Another feature is that PCCB brakes reduce the weight of the unsprung masses by 20 kilos or so, in relation to the steel discs.

Also part of the standard equipment electronically controlled suspension system (Porsche Active Suspension Management, PASM). The GT2 has alloy wheels 19-inch sports tires 235/35 ZR 19 front and 325/30 ZR 19 rear.

Peugeot i0n Concept

The Peugeot Concept is a prototype I0N proceeds (almost 100%) the launch of an electric urban of 3.48 meters in length with a carrier approved for four passengers. Be officially presented at the International Motor Show in Frankfurt (IAA), to be held from 17 to 27 September 2009. It's marketing is planned for late 2010.

64 hp electric motor
Its electric drive system is 100%. Its engine, located at the rear of the vehicle has an output of 64 hp and maximum torque of 180 Nm. With these figures, the Peugeot I0N is capable of reaching a top speed of 130 km / h.

The electric motor is fed by the energy supplied by a lithium-ion batteries. Reloading the same can be done in two forms: a rapid that takes place in 30 minutes to charge batteries to 80% (this recharge can only be performed in high-voltage power outlet) and a complete lasts six hours (recharging can be performed by a conventional 220 volt outlet). With the batteries recharged to 100% capacity, the Peugeot I0N has a range of 130 km.

The engine is mated to an automatic transmission. The management of this change can be changed automatically (if the driver so wishes) to consume less energy, to park and down steep grades.

The batteries are located under the floor and have a weight of 230 kg (Peugeot I0N weighs 1,030 kg). Peugeot says that the maximum capacity is guaranteed for 10 years from hence its performance is reduced to 80%.

Obviously, by not issuing a single gram of C02, Peugeot I0N is totally free of registration tax.

Rivals
For dimensions, the Peugeot I0N is a car similar to a Peugeot 107, Citroën C1, Toyota Aygo, Chevrolet Matiz, Nissan Pixo and Suzuki Alto. The trunk has a capacity of 246 liters.

One of the curiosities of this is that electric utility has a communication unit that allows emergency calls in case of accidents and sending data on mileage, revision control and battery status. This information is very useful for fleet management by rental companies.

The Peugeot I0N is developed jointly with Mitsubishi (basically a Mitsubishi i-MiEV with the logo of Peugeot). Previously, Peugeot had collaborated with the Japanese to launch its first 4x4, the Peugeot 4007 (twin of Mitsubishi Outlander model).

Peugeot end of April has produced 1,460,000 units of 207.

Peugeot 207 RC

The Peugeot 207 RC has a number of improvements that affect the aesthetics of the body, the interior finishes and equipment. The frame and engine are completely unchanged.

Bodywork
Aesthetic level presents a new front bumper in the changing shapes of the air intake increases the painted surfaces in the body color, and repositioned laterally round fog lamps. From now change the design on the front: the decoration of the grill of the air inlet improves with effective relief horizontal profiles black, chrome or metallic grid). Also does the same for the aesthetic treatment of the fog, now presents with small frames or profiles chrome chrome style used in the grill of the air inlet.

The taillights design change and now are equipped with LED technology. In the red part of both pilots, the illumination area comprises two horizontal ramps closed six LEDs on the inside by another ramp of 3 LEDs with phosphor forming a parallelogram. A backlit reflectors tape seems to escape vertically outwards. On the white reverse lights flashing and have a mask in relief.

Motor
The Peugeot 207 RC has a 1.6 liters THP engine (1,598 cm3), 4-cylinder equipped with a maximum power of 175 hp at 6 000 rpm. It has a 16 valve cylinder head with two overhead camshafts head. This mechanism has a pair of 153 Nm at 1000 rpm. The maximum torque of 240 Nm is reached at only 1 600 rpm and this value remains unchanged until 4 500 rpm. On the other hand, continues to provide a torque of 204 Nm at 6 000 rpm. However, this torque may still increase due to an overboost function temporarily increases the engine boost pressure. It can reach and 260 Nm at the time of a strong solicitation of the accelerator. This overboost function is activated in one of three speeds exceeding full load from low revs to 5200 rpm.

Thus, the Peugeot 207 RC needs only 27.8 seconds to travel 1,000 m from rest, while the step from 0 to 100 km / h is achieved in just 7.1 seconds. From 80 to 120 km / h only need 7 seconds. The maximum speed reached in 5th gear is 220 km / h.

Approved their average consumption is 7.2 liters and has CO2 emissions of 171 g / km.

Frame
As with all 207, the suspensions are composed of a front-pseudo McPherson type. For RC, the joint front of the triangle is also committed to a socket instead of the elastic joint. The elastic joint front was stiffened in order to achieve better performance of the plane of the front wheels under efforts with the utmost precision.

The tension of the deformable beam rear was increased by almost 30% compared to 207 equipped with the 1.6 liter THP engine 150 hp. As regards the pressurized tube hydraulic shock absorbers to 5 bar, structurally identical to the rest of the range, obey laws specifically studied for the 207 equipped with this engine. Similarly, the tension of the front and rear springs are increased in order to give the frame the most effective in terms of driving behavior.

The power steering is electric. The braking is secured at the front by specific ventilated discs 302mm in diameter and 26 mm thick. These stirrups are brake discs with a diameter increased to 57 mm. Solid discs of 249 x 9 mm used in the rear.

A system ESP (Electronic Stability Program) Teves MK60 is equipped standard version. It integrates an ABS, an Electronic Brake Distribution (REF), an emergency braking assistance (EBA), a antiderrapamiento system (ASR) and stability control (CDS), which detects any opening of oversteer or understeer. Finally, it enables the integration of any new system, the SSP (see section on safety). The ESP system and its functions (EBA, ASR, CDS) are completely disconnected, in order to allow a demanding clientele and experience to fully exploit the capabilities of the 207 RC.

Peugeot 3008

The Peugeot 3008 Range 2009 (the internal code is "T84") is based HYbrid4 Prologue concept car, a prototype that was presented at the last Paris Motor Show. The 3008 designation follows the following logic: The number 3 identifies the compact midrange Peugeot, the double zero (00) designates a different and original car within the range to which he belongs and, finally, 8 requires the generation it belongs within the current range.

The Peugeot 3008 Range 2009 is based on platform 2 of the PSA (Peugeot Citroën), shared with other models of the group, like the Peugeot 308 and Citroën C4, although for 3008 has been improved and optimized.

Regarding his Cuena direct competition with elements that successfully distinguish their equipment. We refer to Distance Alert System (This system helps drivers to respect the safety distance in relation to the preceding vehicle and depending on the speed), or Grip Control device (a motor "off-road intelligent lets you optimize the drive to the front wheels through a sophisticated traction control (developed in collaboration with Bosch and patented) built into the ESP.

Sisema other options include "Dynamic Rolling Control, optimal control of the swing that includes a central module connecting the two rear shock absorbers integrated under the cross shaft. This module, as if it were a third buffer, including a floating piston and a clearing house. The assembly is pressurized to 20 bar.

The Peugeot 3008 Range 2009 has a comparable size, although smaller, to a Citroen Picasso.

Peugeot 107

The Peugeot 107 Range 2009 introduces a number of improvements in design, equipment (now available optionally for stability control) and the gasoline engine 68 hp (consumer now has a slightly adjusted).

The Peugeot 107 Range 2009 is a utility similar to a VW Fox or a Renault Twingo.

The body has now a new bumper that enrollment shifts to a lower position, similar to other models of Peugeot. Now, the new bumper redraw the contours of the air intake and features a new grille cross grid. Also, incorporates two side openings closed with a grating and a double in the decorative profile that can be mounted fog lamps, available in option. Finally, chrome highlights the wide profile that runs horizontally across the front (anterior model - current model).

The interior sound level was improved through better insulation of road noise and reduced vibration. To do this, soundproof materials are added in the back panels of the three-door versions, with the redesign of the rear tray, serve to isolate noise from the rear of the car. Also added a new sound-proof materials attached to the structure at ground level front pulley and a new buffer for the linking of the engine accessories, which succeeded in improving the level of noise and vibrations of certain frequencies in the gasoline engine.

The boot tray features a new design that allows better access to it and, above all, a better use of the 477 mm distance between the threshold loading and rear backrest. Recall that the cabin of the Peugeot 107 Range 2009 is approved to accommodate four passengers. The trunk has a capacity of 200 liters to the height of the rear seat backs and tray 193 liters under the rear swingarm (from the lowest position thereof in relation to the top of the back). The rear seats of 107 are foldable, which have provided a total volume of 751 liters and a load length of 1,093 mm.

Among the equipment Peugeto 107 Range 2009, include six airbags, electric front windows, central locking with remote control, tachometer, folding rear seatback match 50/50, paddock mated rear head restraints, Isofix anchorages in the rear seats, side guards, casings of exterior mirrors and door handles in body color.

The Peugeot 107 Range 2009 maintains the two engines that meet Euro IV standards. The 1.0i petrol engine 68 hp (of origin) Toyota now has a slightly lower consumption (0.1 liters less on manual gearbox version). It can be mated to a five-speed changes, or piloted gearbox 5-speed (commercially called 2-Tronic).

The gasoline engine is a 3-cylinder (4 valves per cylinder) that has a combined consumption of 4.5 l/100 km. The low level of CO2 emissions (106 grams per km) allows you to be exempt from registration tax. Develops an output of 68 hp at 6,000 rpm and a torque of 93 Nm at 3,600 rpm. Furthermore, this engine has a variable distribution draft (VVT), which allows optimum filling of the combustion chambers irrespective of engine speed.

The other engine available is a range of 54 bhp HDi diesel engine, developed by PSA (Peugeot Citroen). It is mated to the same manual gearbox that the gasoline engine. Has an output of 54 hp at 4,000 rpm and torque of 130 Nm at 1,750 rpm. It has an official consumption of 4.1 litres/100 km in the combined cycle and emissions of C = 2 of 109 grams per km. Like the gasoline engine, diesel, has no tax liability for tuition fees.

In the diesel version, the 107 is equipped with a manual gearbox is identical to that available in the petrol version. Both have five-speed developed by Toyota and especially designed to minimize consumption. A special oil of very low viscosity, has also been developed for this purpose. This diesel engine does not have an automatic gearbox.

The Peugeot 107 Share project design, development and production together with the Citroen C1 and Toyota Aygo. The three models are built at the factory at Kolin in the Czech Republic "Peugeot Citroën Automobile (TPCA).
